Regarding Higuain, seems like Arsenal have upped the offer to £22mill according to the Daily Fail:p...hopefully this isnt just a false hope and we get him in the end. Think he could become a very good player for us if Wenger manages him correctly, also hes 25 so is still young. Would love him to become our next Henry type of player, scoring plenty of goals and assists...think him and Carzola would link up really nicely. Also we are looking at a Spanish U21 player Asier Illarramendi as well.

Only thing that worries me from this article is that it looks like Sagna will be sticking round :(:(.

I didn't realise he was so young still. On paper looks like a very good signing if there is any truth in it. Still need a few more though!

Foolish of him to reject that offer, PSG are going to be in the CL next season and are champions of France whereas Spurs arent even in the CL and probably wont be challenging anytime soon for the title lol.

it's not foolish at all. if he'd have left spurs, gone to PSG and got sacked then his career would be a bit of a joke. he's showing loyalty to spurs as we showed faith in him. he was also the driving force behind baldini. sign paulinho and keep bale. new lb, a flair player and 2 strikers and spurs will be blowing arsenal away :D

Fair play to him I say.

There is very little loyalty in football nowadays and it seems AVB is quite prepared to stay with Spurs for the long term, remember, this is AVB who looked like he would never get another job in England after the Chelsea job and Spurs took a punt on him.

Why would he want to shaft Spurs to go to PSG? He will be there until the next flavour of the month is bought in to replace him.

Agreed and tbh, i don't think it's in his best interest to have left, given the circumstances he left Chelsea. I don't think he's been manager at one club for more than one season i recall reading. If that's the case then a sustained spell at one club will serve him well. There's no rush for managers. It's not like there's and age limit they can manage. Plenty of time for him.

Id love him to come back and score a hatrick against Liverpool now.

Its not his fault the muppets in charge of Liverpool paid what they did for him and offered him the wages he got is it?

is this Thiago Alcantara anygood and are we getting him?

He's great and judging by reports we are definetely in for him, we bid 15 million for him a year ago apparently.

It all boils down to if he wants to stay at Barca and fight with Fabregas/Xavi/Iniesta for another year or try his hand somewhere else, his release clause at Barca is 18 million and has to be activated before August.

Yes he is good and no we probably won't get him. There is always the fact that Barcelona only ever "loan" their top youngsters out. I can't be bothered to have a top quality midfielder who is going to want to head back to Barca in 3-4 years time.

That's not the case with him, he's not a 'Catalan' so shouldn't suffer from the same illness that Fabregas did.

In fact he's pretty much Brazilian born in Italy while his old man was playing over there, I think it boils down to whether he can be arsed to move or if he's quite happy being a bit part player coming off the bench every now and then.

He thinks of himself as Spanish though, not Italian, and not really Brazilian either. Not to far a leap to think he would see himself as a Barca boy like Fabregas/Alba etc

Cracking player though, and for under 18 mill, surely there would be lots of suitors for him.

I have never got the impression that it was a catalan thing personally. Its just how barcelona work. They have a great lifestyle and style of football and live in a beautiful city. They have too many top players to accomodate so they sell them abroad knowing that when the time is right they can bring them home reasonably easily in most cases.
