Twitter and a few other rumours about Arsenal being in for Gundogan , would love this.

I think it’s near intenable for Suarez to stay at Liverpool now, it's clear he feels he has to force the issue.

Football fans are so fickle, fans will turn on him, where ever he moves to the new fans will love him after probably giving him more than his fair share of abuse. Meh. Either way, he's a bloody cracking footballer, even if he's a racist cannibal.

I think if Arsenal or any other club *cough* Real Madrid *cough* want Suarez now is the time to make a 'proper' bid.

As someone said on twitter, if we have gone back on a promise to him now he knows how Kenny felt went he ignored his promise to shake Evra's hand. 55 mill and he's someone else's problem. Mind u be quite funny if arsenal don't beat PSV

Honestly cant see why Liverpool fans are upset with him, If Liverpool failed to qualify for CL it was always going to be hard to force him to stay if a CL club came in for him. I dont think Arsenal is the right club for him because Arsenal dont look like winning the CL any time soon. I would rather stay at Liverpool than go to Arsenal if i was in his situation, he risks upsetting a lot of people and the media will come down on him even harder with any future incident.

Edit - Give Liverpool another year to get CL if it doesn't happen then i think he should force a move.

As I understand it, Suarez said he wanted to leave England because of the press?

Now, he just wants to leave the club to play Champions League football and apparently has something in his contract allowing this to happen, as in to leave the club if Liverpool receive a good enough bid? Suarez must have some one telling him that this is all legally sound because if not he'll look an even bigger muppet over this.

Also; back tracking over the leaving England thing, just wants to leave the club and play Champions League football, he can't have a very good memory, seems to get his words mixed up , wouldn't be the first time.

I like Suarez, aside from being a racist cannibal, I think he's at times a magnificent footballer, however, if he wanted to leave, just had a transfer request in man. Do not come out and bitch in the media and then change your story and bitch in the media some more, Liverpool have been good to him (overly so at times, same with the fans) and this is not the dignified way to leave a club.

Also; in a world where Real Madrid 'apparently' are willing to offer €100 million for Bale, how bloody much is Suarez worth?.

He threw chewing gum at Ramos? :D

It wasn't chewing gum, he was gobbing in his hand and throwing it in Ramos's face during the game, he did it multiple times, he starts fights, kicks/head butts people fairly routinely. He makes Suarez look like a saint, he isn't physically aggressive he's a completely and utter ****. There is a difference between Kevin Davies smashing into everyone like the untalented hack he is, but in a generally good natured way putting pressure on people and effectively spitting in players faces, kicking, headbutting, diving, cheating. He's pretty much all the worst parts of Suarez and Diouff added together to become a super ****.

Did you see that Kevin Davis almost single handedly injured all of the defenders he was up against at the weekend?!

He's a big guy who doesn't fully understand toasters.

May have already been mentioned, but seems likes the crux of this is that Arsenal arent actually a Champions League club and are only in the Qualifying rounds. So the clause does exist, but Arsenal arent capable of activating it.

Give over

That might be due to the fact they've been asked, not gone crying

Liverpool will have known all of this from Suarez for weeks, their attempts in the press have been thought out in an attempt to handle the situation. Wenger has been asked plenty but has murmured a few words at most.

If we win the qualifier we will be in the CL, could be why Wenger said 'nothing likely to be done before the qualifier' so despite my distrust of the press, there may be some truth to the whole CL club clause.

If you mean Suarez is agitating for a move to a champs league club being stupid if he's choosing Arsenal(I don't think he is btw, just the only team in... hopefully the only one YET), or if you mean, as they aren't officially in the champions league proper, the release clause might be worded in such a way that as Arsenal aren't officially in the champs league they don't have to accept the offer.

If it's the latter, that would be interesting, though most of the talk (though mostly rumour and not direct from Rodgers afaik) suggests that the clause is a case of not having to accept a fee rather than a technicality over Arsenal not being officially in the champs league yet.

The fact that the owner was tweeting about a much bigger fee needed, when other confirmed champs league teams could have come in and bid the release clause suggests Liverpool are infact taking that stance that its simply not a proper release clause.

I mostly just hope Real or someone equally stupid comes in and offers 50+ mil for him and stops any chance of him joining Arsenal.

Would be hilarious if Arsenal were knocked out :p or would be equally hilarious if Arsenal (with Suarez) failed to get a Champions League spot next season.

If Liverpool and Arsenal get CL after this season, there's more chance of Liverpool winning the CL than Arsenal.

I reckon RM will go after Suarez if the Bale agreement doesn't go through.

And that then depends if there's a cut off date on the clause. Letting a player go with 5 days left in the window would be risky.

Typical Arsenal to get him the day before the window closes. But yes, the later it gets the weaker Arsenal's position is. All depends on how insubordinate Suarez is prepared to be in the next few weeks, given his history I'd say nothing is beyond him. I do think Liverpool were holding out for 50m but Arsenal should go for 45m and cross their fingers

If anybody wants a laugh, The Times editor has gone full retard https://twitter.com/TonyEvansTimes

Why not just gob on him? Why put it in your hand first? I must get to the bottom of this.

Because spitting is fairly obvious, throwing gob from your hand under arm at a player on the blind side of the ref is much more sly and as happened, wasn't seen by the ref.

The guy who spat for West Brom, it was plain as day and he got sent off straight away. If in a crowd he just appeared to wipe his mouth then threw it upwards at the player when the ref wasn't looking, would have been easier to miss.

I think it says something when you put that much thought into not getting caught spitting...... Suarez is almost saintly alongside him.

While I heavily dislike Ramos for being overly aggressive, consistently doing recklessly dangerous tackles with quite a few every season seeming very much on purpose, it doesn't make it all right to spit in a guys face. Suarez is the worst in the EPL right now, Costa is one of the most dispicable players I've seen for many many years in football.

I think he's been under rated by some on here, he really can play some fantastic football, this season I've seen him take the ball on the break, out muscle and out trick his way past 3-4 players before playing a very good pass in for Falcao to score. I don't think he's brilliant, but he has moments of magic and has been very effective for them for sure. I think just the number of times he starts brawls, spits, dives, he would get destroyed by refs over here.

He's also got that Falcao look about him, says he's 24, but might infact be 34 :p
