Suarez said he's talking to the PFA about his contract dispute - well this is what Gordon Taylor has to say about his clause:

And a Sports Lawyer that has worked on Premier League contracts has this to say about the supposed verbal agreement Rodgers gave Suarez:

If the above is correct then it doesn't look like Suarez has a leg to stand on. Whether he goes will be done to Liverpool's choice.

Suarez didn't sign an extended contract, he got a pay-rise. The length of the deal was no different.

In all honesty, Suarez never had a leg to stand on with his wanting out of Liverpool and especially to another PL team...perhaps if Real or some other Euro team comes in and makes a bid for him, you lot might sell him but i just cant see him going to Arsenal or anyone else in the PL.
Which makes me think thats why Arsenal have gone cold on the deal, probably waiting to see what happens if Suarez takes it to court as he has been threatening to do.
But i dont think Arsenal will sign him, it would be an utterly stupid thing for Arsenal to do considering the numerous sly ways he is using to get out of Liverpool ie one min its the english press/media and now its because Liverpool supposedly promised to sell him if they didnt get CL football this season.

I thought as much. I'm confident we'll bring in a couple of players but christ knows who or when. It doesn't look good for getting an AAA player does it. Nevermind, always next summer :o

Nope i cant see us signing any world class/big name players now, i mean who is left other than Rooney and Suarez??...cant think of anyone else tbh.

Thats why i said earlier, that if we are bidding £40mill for Suarez then we should bid the same amount for Rooney and see what Utd say...worst they will say is no. But at least it means we are looking at other players rather than concentrating or waiting on Suarez.

LOL yes always next summer or Jan, where we get the usual look at players, sit on our hands then come out with the excuses of no value in the market or our squad is strong enough to challenge for trophies and the PL title. But yet we have £70 mill sat in the bank doing nothing :/

Don't worry a player who was released by Schalke is on the way in Ciprian Marica all for the pricely sum of £0.000!

LOL yes i heard about that, could be the next freebie for us...typical Wenger signing though:p.

Wouldnt surprise me if Wenger is deluded enough to think that we could sign a big name player on a freebie:p especially with the way he does his transfers ie get em in cheap, sign them on long contracts they then turn out to be utter rubbish and we are stuck with them for the next 3-4 yrs where no other team will take them off our hands :/

Meh the only good thing so far this summer is that we have got rid of a lot of rubbish in our squad but majority of them went for free or are on loan ie Djourou is one example...just cant get rid of that guy:p

I still think Arsenal will get Suarez, unless Real Madrid decide to come in, or something. Liverpool know that, ultimately, they are probably best off selling him, he's desperate to leave and doesn't want to be there - rightly or wrongly.

I suspect Suarez believed his clause is a release clause, but in actual fact it isn't. Making it largely worthless. Rodgers has seemingly lied to his face though if he said he'd sell him, obviously they want a 'fair' price, but £40m is hardly a bad price.

It's similar in our case with Rooney, I don't really want us to sell him to Chelsea, but for the right money I can accept it, as long as it's used on other players, I suppose this is the case with us, Liverpool and Spurs as well, will we see it being reinvested, if not, then **** it.

It is funny you choose to believe Rodger's has lied to his face Robbo when I doubt you've ever believe anything he has said before

It's almost certain that discussions were had regarding the possibility of selling Suarez this summer however it's highly unlikely that the club would have made a straight forward promise to sell Suarez without certain conditions - like who we'd sell to.

Risky business following Fergie and playing the same team fergie did last season which won the league...

Or it could be said its not risky in the slightest.

Three of the four clubs directly below Utd have strengthened considerably (and if Chelsea get their way they will spend a similar amount to what City have already spent).

It could therefore be viewed as more risky for Moyes the more money he spends, rather than not spending.

Even if Utd had managed to pull off Thiago or CF it was always unlikely Utd would have spent anything like the same amount as their other two major rivals (even though its not inconcievable how that amount of cash could improve Utd's current 1st team / squad......even without considering Ronaldo /Bale)

This just seems like another classic Liverpool bad decision. As much as we would like clubs to have the control over players, if they want to leave there is little you can do unless you want to risk having to drop them instead of sell them.

Liverpool love to think that they have shown loyalty towards Suarez when they have just indulged their best player by a country mile. Would they have done the same for anyone else bar Gerrard? No. Thats not loyalty, thats putting up with a **** because he is the only thing propping them up.

Although I think Suarez should be less of a **** in this matter, the fact is that he wants to go and £40m for him is a great price. Ignore Bale and look at who else has moved this window in the way of strikers. PSG and Monaco with their sugar daddys paid a bit more for what are better players. I can't see this as any more than a power play from Liverpool who are determined that the **** that has dragged them through the mud is not going to thumb his nose up at them one last time.

take the blinkers off and explain how/what we have done wrong here?
