Chump (or should that be chimp) change.......What was brand Beckhams earnings last year? over 50 million wasn't it?

Spurs better hope all these signings gel quickly

Yes let compare the earnings of flavour of the summer player to the biggest brand in football player wise for the last decade.

and you support?.......

I don't think that matters, he is right. Bringing in half a team worth of new players could take a while to sort out. It might gel instantly or it could take a while. Either way his point was valid.

that's stating the obvious though. it seems supporters either moan at a team for making no signings or state that new signings will take time to gel.

i know which problem i'd rather have. it is a valid point but it's a very exciting problem to have.

Rumour that Arsenal trying to sign Luiz Gustavo from Munich.

Yep i mentioned this rumour a few weeks back, not sure if it will happen but if it does then not a bad signing and gives us some much needed steel in the midfield area.

I was looking at the squad on Arsenal.com last night and i have to say that despite getting rid of a lot of deadwood from the squad...we actually have a weaker squad in terms of last year and thats scary. Hoping that Wenger brings in some decent reinforcements before the window closes. Just not liking how we are doing business this transfer window especially with all the money we have.

At least he is trying to sign players that are:

A. International class.
B. Plays for a top club
C. Has tons of experience and has WON trophies.
D. Other top teams want.
E. Over 20!

That can only be a good thing.

If we dont get Suarez, are there any strikers worth buying? We need one.

If you think about it, Suarez is worth £50 million. Why?

Well qualifying for the Champions league getting through the group stages and in to the quaters is worth around £20-£25 million alone.

But we've done that every year for 14 years or whatever without spending 50mil, we might qualify without him but find if we buy him and spend the 50mil that he gets sent off in the game and we go out and lose 25mil. Those kinds of things are irrelevant, its like the "Ronaldo paid back his fee in his first year" BS, no the team signed a new sponsorship deal... THEY WOULD HAVE ANYWAY. Their revenue didn't increase 80mil, neither did their profits, he categorically did not pay back 80mil in his first season.

IF we buy Suarez and make it through the qualification Suarez would NOT be the reason for doing so, even if he scored 3 goals the team got into 4th without him, got the chance without him and no player plays and wins alone. Just because he might score 3, doesn't mean we wouldn't win with someone else on the pitch. Fact is I'd be surprised if we didn't make it through with the current team.

I'll again point out that LIverpool haven't improved since Suarez has been there, they haven't improved in the league, got into Europe nor was their record worse when he didn't play, it was in fact better.

Being a great individual player doesn't equate to directly improving a team. Many brilliant individuals make a team overall worse(particularly when a player is very selfish and costs his teams results taking on stupid chances rather than making the right choices). Liverpool dominated and created dozens of chances in the 9 games they lost, Suarez fluffed 52 shots without a goal in those 9 losses. I haven't seen Suarez make a noticeable difference on Liverpools results, as such why anyone believes he's worth so much I don't know.

Jol said after the game today he wants 'two or three' more after signing Taarabt. Imagine this will be a striker (Bent, maybe), a midfielder and maybe a left or right back depending on Riise.

Spurs won't sell Dembele anytime soon. If Soldado turns out to be great and Bale isn't sold, then Spurs will have a great player that I envy in every department.
