I don't want to see Fellaini and Baines goto ManU. I hate it when managers take their dead weight players along from one club to another.

ManU should be attracting the biggest stars to play for them, not two useless players who haven't won anything for ages.

RonaldON?

Ronaldo wants United return: Daniel Taylor writes in the Observer this morning that Cristiano Ronaldo has informed Manchester United that he does want to come back to Old Trafford – though not this summer. United have received indications from their former hero that he wants to end his career with them, and as such a move next summer is being contemplated by the United hierarchy.

I think Ronny only wants to return when we strengthen our squad.

We should go for the biggest stars, like Fabregas and Bale.....

Useless players? Did you watch the opening game last season? Fellaini humiliated UTD. Baines has been the best LB in the league. Not winning trophies doesn't make them useless. I'd much rather have Baines playing for UTD than Evra. Evra thinks he is Messi when attacking and always makes mistakes in defense. The Benny Hill theme should start playing when our fullbacks try to defend.

Rooney's situations weird. He won't be sold to another PL club, I think he'll just go back to Everton on a free.

Rooney will be played on Monday, too many players to choose from in the attacking side. Anderson better step up his game.

lolwut?

Fellaini and Baines may not be the biggest stars out there, but that doesn't mean they are dead weight, it also doesn't make them useless, and even the best player in the world is going to struggle to win something if the whole team isn't strong (how did Messi get on in the last world cup? as an example)

So if Chelsea sign Willian and Eto'o they'll have Torres, Ba, Lukaku, Eto'o, Mata, Hazard, Oscar, Schurrle, Moses, De Bruyne, van Ginkel, and Willian figting for the four attacking midfield/striker places.

That's what I call strength in depth.

The good thing is, none of those players seem like they would sulk if they had to sit on the bench for a game or two. They also have Marin out on loan. Marin looks like he could be something special. ..

I think in the long run the strongest attacking front will be.

----------Lukaku---------
Hazard --- Oscar --- Mata

and their defensive mids aren't bad either... Essien, Mikel, Lampard and Ramires. Lamps and Ramires being more box to box but can defend when needed. Essien doesn't mind attacking either.

Really not looking forward to Monday. Chelsea slapped UTD around last season. We just couldn't compete with them. Jose is going to go for the jugular.

If Chelsea go all out attack, maybe we could hurt them on the counter. Carrick is going to have to run the show in midfield.

Maybe they should have kept Rafa Benitez. He loved a bit of squad rotation.

The fans hated him, there was no way he was going to be there permanently, not his fault and imo the fans were being retarded, he was doing a great job and I think his new training regime really boosted player's fitness, as that was his biggest gripe when he assessed the team initially.

He made some really good obvious decisions other managers just seem to have missed, like the fact David Luiz is a midfielder shoehorned into a CB. I have always thought that from the very first time I seen him play, he loves going forward, is great on the ball and can pick out a 50 yard pass with either foot as well as bang them in the net. Takes a great free kick as well.

If they sign Eto'o then surely Torres or Ba must be sold on or put Lukaku on loan again. Torres just simply ain't been good enough tbh and it's about time they just got rid of him, he just isn't the same player anymore.

Again Moses is the same, he ain't top 4 team material and should be sold on as I don't think he is going to become better either.

The others are all great though apart from van Ginkel (never seen him play).

Chelsea have a great squad everywhere even holding mid's are covered by 4-5 great players and the defence has 2 good player's for every position as well, granted you can even use Ivanovic in 2 positions and he does both very well.

We're looking to get either Moses or Townsend in on loan, the latter we were denied a couple of weeks a go apparently.

We would be extremely foolish to let Townsend go out on loan from what I have seen from him so far, in my opinion.

I am interested to see what happens this week in the transfer window, if nothing is said Mon/Tues then I reckon that will be it as I don't think we're going to bother with any last minute deals. At least I hope not :p

Looks like Chelsea are in talks with Anzhi for Eto, Chelsea looking extremely strong attacking wise, even moreso if they get Eto.

Meanwhile Wenger has said after our win against Fulham that he doesnt think we will make any signings in the next few days :/. Says they are still working on a few but nothings been decided etc. Im hoping this is a ploy to keep other teams away from the players we want or something like that:p. But if not, thats pretty poor from Wenger...he knows we desperately need some reinforcements...season isnt 10 games long:p and having more or less qualified for the CL group stages, it makes the season just that bit longer. And knowing how easily our players get injured we really do need some decent backups.
I was afraid this would happen after our win against Fulham ie Wenger taking his eye off the ball and thinking this squad is good enough to win trophies and challenge for the PL.

wonder how much they will offer him, as in wage wise, surely it's going to be half what he is on now, probably even less than that, would he be willing to drop so much, he could just run his contract out if he wants.

although i doubt he really likes playing in Russia of all places

What was he on at Anzhi?? something stupid like £300k a week?? dont think Chelsea would pay him that much plus hes getting on a bit...at least £150k a week i would imagine Chelsea paying him if he does go there.

£364,583 a week which is:

£52,083 - a day
£2,170 - an hour
£36.16 - a minute
60p a second

quite frankly ridiculous

Yep thought so, something like a mill a month he was on...no wonder the owner of Anzhi wants him and a few others off his payroll:p

it's over 1 million every 3 weeks, maybe 1 million a month after tax (dunno how much tax is in russia), but he most likely has a good accountant which makes him pay like 5% tax or something ridiculous like that.

Tottenham are weighing up a dramatic bid to sign Brazilian international forward Hulk, but only if they can negotiate a deal of around £30 million.

Source: Telegraph

Spurs are hoping to secure three more signings before the transfer window closes on September 2.
There will also be several departures, with Gareth Bale’s move to Real Madrid the most high-profile for a world-record fee. Spurs – still smarting at missing out on Willian to Chelsea – would prefer to secure their two attacking players before releasing Bale but Real are pushing hard for an announcement to be made within the next couple of days.

A deal is in place for Spurs to sign Roma forward Erik Lamela, believed to be worth around £26 million, equalling the club’s transfer record, and they are again bidding for Steaua Bucharest central defender Vlad Chiriches who they value at £7.5 million.

Hulk has long been admired by head coach Andre Villas-Boas, who worked with the 27-year-old forward at Porto, although any deal hinges on his current club, Zenit St Petersburg, lowering their demands. The Russians have been demanding closer to £40 million.

In Tottenham’s favour is the fact that Hulk wants to reunite with Villas-Boas even though the club is not in the Champions League.

Spurs are considering other options if a deal cannot be agreed for Hulk including Lamela’s team-mate Miralem Pjanic, an attacking midfielder. While it is unlikely that Roma would sell the Bosnian international having already allowed Pablo Osvaldo to join Southampton, that position could change if they follow up their interest in Chelsea’s Demba Ba.

Another option for Spurs could be CSKA Moscow’s Russian international Alan Dzagoev who was offered to them last year. Spurs will also monitor how much playing time Juan Mata gets at Chelsea now that Jose Mourinho is signing Willian. Spurs have already recouped £23 million this summer and if they secure their targets, one of Jermain Defoe or Emmanuel Adebayor could be sold – the likelihood is the former – and there are question marks over Aaron Lennon's future as well.

hulk is one of the most overrated players ever. bonkers if we're contemplating this.
