He is still a very good player to be fair and for that money I wouldn't say no. I would rather we bought him for £10m than buy Fellaini for ~£25m.

Rossi would be a short term fix though. I'd rather buy someone mid 20's who has experience of the Premier League.

scared of what?

Spurs will have a disruptive player who doesnt want to be there and will put in half arsed performances or do a tevez and go on strike etc.

Sell him instead of keeping him like a prisoner

Prisoner. lol.

Tbh its very childish of me but I just want to see them have take that stage down, presumptuous gits.

People saying Spurs have handled it badly, are you mad? Madrid tapping up your star player, the president, manager, coach (footballing legend), spanish mouthpiece paper all saying he is ours, when he is contracted to Spurs....Madness.

If they want him they have to pay what he is worth to Tottenham, which is A LOT OF MONEY. When was the last time you saw a Tottenham player on the front of GQ, his face on a billboard in times square? Never in my lifetime, he is worth a HUGE sum of money in advertising and getting people interested in Spurs.

They had a huge ego, assumed it would all happen as little spurs would just crumble. Infact we went out, got our replacements etc and now they can have him. If they want to change the fee...they cant have him, we will keep him, have a fantastic squad and win a lot.

We would get a few years out of him and that would give us the time to bring in a quality long term replacement. I am slightly worried we will end up paying ~£30m for Fellaini on the deadline day if we are not careful so £10m as a stopgap and a very good one at that would be alright.

No he wouldn't do a Tevez, Bale wouldn't do that to the fans if he doesn't go. Spurs would most likely get top 4 with him and he'd be happy. He should learn from Ronaldo that going to RM gets you **** all. If he doesn't go to RM, he'll end up at Man Utd at something like £45m, next summer.

He has already missed two training sessions lol

Who said spurs are handling it badly? I don't think they have I said I think atm there making a mess of the situation in sense of the whole you can't announce. Also every club has tapped up a player give over if you think it's just Madrid. Why bale even wants to go to Madrid baffles me still anyway la liga is snore fest anyway only two teams compete for the title and its just meh

We are delighted to announce that we've reached agreement with AS Roma for the transfer of Erik Lamela #THFC

Thatll do.

Probably something to do with them being the most famous, most decorated football club in the world. When he looks back on his career, 'former Real Madrid winger' will sound better than 'former Spurs star'.

Maybe so but la liga was allot better few years ago than it is now.

So if we dont want him why did have bid for him at the last minute rejected? ...kind of negates your entire point doesn't it. oh and we could have had Sturridge in time for he season start but BR messed around with just a loan option. That deal should ahve been tied up 6 months before we actually got him.

Edit - Actually not even rejected, the transfer has already been agreed to Atletico. We put in a bid (off the back of Toure's injury), and have been told we're too late.

We bid for him? Says who? The press that follow Liverpool have continually dismissed stories linking us to him and the Echo even made a point of adding to their Illori story today that the club scouted him but we never followed that up because he's not cut out for the Premier League.

The Dutch press have kept talking about us being after him just like Eriksen because Ajax are trying to force other clubs hands yet we've not bid for either.

And I know full well about last summer and Rodgers not wanting to sign Sturridge on a permanent deal. That's why I said he's as much to blame as the owners.
