Ozil is a good signing yeah, is he the signing to push Arsenal on? No. They don't have problems creating chances, their problems have been in defence and a combative midfielder.

I would be a whole lot more worried if they had used their money wisely and bought in the problem areas. Begovic/Sahko/Fellani insead of Ozil would have been a far stronger Arsenal.

Don't believe all the doom and gloom. We have a strong first team. We added a goalie as backup, we added a DM in flamini who I think will be a bargain. Took a punt on a French kid.

We needed a goalie, CB, DM, and striker as back up.

Sagna has covered well at CB, we have flamini as cover for DM plus any position in back four. Walcott and podolski can play as striker.

AND we added ozil to team... I'm not too worried about the team as a whole especially when our injured players return.

Could wenger have picked more wisely? Maybe but improving our first team hasn't done us any harm.

A combative midfielder? Like Flamini, possibly..? They may not have absolutely needed Ozil, but he'll improve them hugely - a great midfielder can be ridiculously influential.

So give up on a goalkeeper who's seen as a world class goalkeeper of the future, and is already performing well. Then buy a defender who PSG don't want to keep, in order to break up the CB partnership which was unbeaten in the league last year. Okay.

PSG didnt want to sell him actually, he wanted out to get 1st team football (Ancelotti has bowed down to Silvas wishes) Flamini, so good the Arsenal fans were hardly sad at his depature in the 1st place.

They may have been 'unbeaten' but that doesnt tell the full story, Arsenal's defence was a joke at times last year. lol, when has Schzney(?) been seen as potential world class?

What do you think Ozil will add to the team over who they have there currently (in real terms), 5 assists possibly a few goals?

For the first time i think i actually agree with you Moses:p. Our defence is decent enough and once Arteta gets back it will be just as good as last year but we have a capable backup in Flamini at the moment. Goalkeeping wise?? i was hoping that we would have made a bid for Cesar but i guess Wenger has enough faith in Chessers to become even better this season and fingers crossed he does.

If we need to add to the squad then im sure in Jan Wenger will do some business, the only real position i think we need to strengthen is the striker/forward and we didnt....again im guessing Wenger is putting his faith in Giroud to come good this season.

It says a lot when other fans are having a pop at Arsenal for buying Ozil and paying over the odds for him. Fact is we were not going to get him cheap at such a late time in the window. Yes its a gamble but its not like he is some unknown player so taking the gamble and paying £42mill is something we needed to do and hopefully it pays off.

Personally i think the fans that are having their sly little digs at Arsenal are running scared because now we have a team full of quality and if the first team can stay fit then we are definitely in the hunt for trophies and possibly the PL title.

ozil must be excited at the prospect from being able to win any trophy to being able to win a 4th place trophy :D

Have to say I don't see what's in it for him unless they are paying huge wages and that's not like Arsenal, you can undertsnad the players going to Spurs as they seem to be trying to build somethign where this seems like a one off to placate the fans

100% Wrong..

They would be filler players at best.. Arsenal already have better, not a huge amount of depth though..

THey really need someone who can improve and inspire the team, A big Hitman (benezema-style) but Ozil will have the same impact.. It means he can try out new formations.

Yes Arsenal are saturated with midfielders but they have a lot that can play in other positions. Ramesy, WIlshire and Flamini can be CDM's. Roisky can play out wide as can cazorla.. While Ozil can be a supporting striker..

They have bought big and bought well IMO.

That will not happen.

He's relatively young and will improve. I do recall him being an absolute monster in the game which cost Utd the league when they drew with Everton in that 4-4.

More of that and Utd will be happy. At the moment hes no Yaya or Javi Martinez but he can improve.

I think Utd fans would have preferred an owen hargreaves type of player, but that obv didnt happen.

He has said that he thinks his playtime could be a little more limited than he is comfortable with considering it's world cup year. Which is fair enough IMO, Robben did a similar thing in wanting to get more first team football, and that didn't exactly go badly for him. :p

Yes, you heard it here first.. Arsenal, the next Bayern Munich.

I think you should read up on him a bit more, find out what how influential he's been under Joakim Low for the German national side when he's been the centre of play. He's restricted at RM, Ronaldo is the main man..

Arsenal's prospect of having Giroud, walcott, ozil, cazorla, wilshere, ramsey is looking nice, will be interesting to see how how they move round the pitch together.

You'd think arsenal are going to win the league and united are going to get relegated by some of the reactions in here

To be fair, I've not really seen much that badly from either Arsenal or Man Utd fans (for the most part) it seems to be the neutrals that are reacting the worst.

I know Arsenal won't win the league, and Man Utd will challenge for the title. But that doesn't change the fact for arsenal, spending that sum of money on an already world class player is completely unheard of. Also, Man utd only signing Fellaini is also pretty unheard of, and really poor.
