We don't really buy in January (well Fergie didn't much) Has Moyes in the past?

It's sounding more and more like we panicked and just bid for every midfielder we could remember the name of in Europe :p

Good point:), suppose with La Liga really only Barca and Real have the money to spend lots of money whereas the other smaller clubs cant compete.

If im not mistaken La liga dont have a TV deal like we have here in England?? or do they??.

Each individual club has their own agreement with the television companies. Barca and Real are huge draws and can pretty much ask for whatever they want. The smaller clubs don't even compare. I read that between Barca and Real they take over 50% of the whole leagues TV rights money.

How annoyed are Man U fans that Arsenal got Ozil? Would have been just what they need from what I can see of their midfield.

I'd have liked him, but as I've said before, we have Kagawa who plays in the same position (and Rooney can too), so I'm not massively bothered.

If we don't even try playing Kagawa, then we aren't going to pay £42m for someone who plays in the same position. I'm not saying they are the same style of player or the same ability, but they aren't a million miles apart.

I really hope Kagawa will stay injury free and get a real chance.

old man gigg's is first choice over kagawa, which is lolworthy

I am annoyed in the sense he's a great player and you always want great players....but I'm not sure how we would use him. We do have a few players that can already play in his position. I'd much rather save that money for if a top class CM becomes available.

I wouldn't have thought an Ozil type was urgent for Utd. They needed a couple of CM's, at least one of those being a defensive midfielder.

Ozil might have been an improvement on what they've got but they aren't short of capable players in the attacking midfield positions. They only really had 1 capable CM though.

The original roles of Cleverley and Anderson were also just behind the striker as more of an attacking midfielder, and they've always looked better further up too.

Wow, if true that is pretty bad and its no wonder its really a league that competed by Real and Barca :/

Methink that might change now:p and yes i dont remember Fergie buying players in Jan. Moyes im not so sure about, i think iirc he has bought a player or 2 in the Jan window.

Oh i didnt realise you were a Sheffield Utd fan, thought Tummy was the only Sheffield fan here but not sure if he supports Wed or Utd??.

Wouldnt be surprised if you guys make it to the PL and he decides to spend big and get you up there playing. Unless its just an investment ie hes not going to spend a lot of money to make you trophy contenders etc.

Aye, I'm a blade. Tummy is a porky! :p I follow Arsenal really closely though, as you must have noticed, because Seaman was and still is my favourite player! :)

Recently Scott McCabe who is on the board has come out and said that the club are aiming for back to back promotion, which is promising but still a little worrying. I don't want us to throw money at the situation, I'd much rather build gradually and build solid foundations for the future, but I can't really complain. He does certainly seem intent on putting money in, and moving the club forward.

I'm very nervous, but these are very exciting times now. :)

Official statement from Pardew:

We are delighted to have brought Loic Remy to the club in this window and we believe he will form an exciting and effective partnership with Pa**** Cisse.

Joe has worked hard on numerous targets, particularly an additional offensive player. However some of the options that were available within our financial means were not as good as the players we already had and there is no point bringing in new players unless they can improve us and take us forward.

We did the majority of our business in the January window, signing five excellent first team players.

With the strong squad we have we should all approach the season in a positive, optimistic frame of mind.

Pathetic

LOL Tummy a porkie:p:D

Well i hope it all works out for you guys with your new investor, it is indeed exciting especially for an Arsenal fan with Ozil coming in now. Not going to get carried away and think we will win the PL as we still need a few more quality players into the squad. But i think we can now really make a challenge on all 4 fronts and hopefully nab a trophy or 2.

Yeah, I can't believe it, sheff utd and arsenal are normally rubbish on deadline day, and yesterday I was dancing about all over for Cuvelier and Ozil! Felt like a big kid! Haha

Do you really think that it's the best XI in the league?
This squad didn't just win the PL last season by a huge margin by being lame did it? United were doing good until that Liverpool game, Moyes put out one of the worst starting 11's which was not acceptable for the biggest PL fixture. United have the best attacking force in the PL which edges that starting 11 to be the best.

Why would we need Ozil? Kagawa deserves his chance before United go searching for a new CAM and United wouldn't pay £42m for a player we don't need. We need better midfielders and Fellaini should do until next summer then we need a established left who's better than Evra and a couple more MF's.

He isn't the one responsible for finalising or even targeting players really is he, so why is he apparently putting out that statement? Its Kinnear's so surely he should be coming out with the excuses.

Singing die die piggy piggy die :D.

I wouldn't want Wednesday to just throw money at the problem either, we live in the 'here and now' generation were Sky are obsessed with where you are not where you're going and throwing money at something for a quick fix seems to be the easiest fix.

I'd much rather a club build and grow.

LOL Tummy a porkie:p:D

I'll cut you .
