Why not?
Because he's considerably some distance from being a £50m player**

Last summer there were midfielders out there that I wanted us to sign namely Dembele and Sahin but looking at the situation now both have been monumental flops at their new clubs, Dembele is nothing like the player he was at Fulham and Sahin couldn't even get a game at Liverpool over Joe Allen or Jordan Henderson and AFAIK he aint getting a game at Dortmund now either so maybe we dodged a bullet with both? Like I said people would be a lot more critical of SAF if he signs the wrong player than if he doesn't sign anyone at all imo
Seriously? Dembele a flop this season? On what planet?!
So Bale is worth over 60m based on one decent season where as Rooney isn't worth close to that despite being pretty consistent over the last 4 or 5?
The mind boggles.
Sorry? I don't remember saying anything about Bale and his value?
I was talking about Wayne Rooney.
Please read messages correctly and reply accordingly.
And no, Rooney is not worth £50m.
Watch him when he played for Fulham and you'll see he's a shadow of that player
Just step out of sandy's world for a second, the fact Bale is worth 60m+ is common knowledge*.
If you think Rooney wont/doesn't command 50m figures then you are mad, so feel free to slide back into sandys world
*general consensus, not my opinion.
?!
What do mean his value is "common knowledge" - you mean the press have labelled him this and you naiively quote this?! against what is their barometer of price measured - at no time have Spurs either stated his value, or listed him for sale at a price, and until a club pay or offer this for him, it's speculative paper talk.
Back into the World of Football Manager and the Sun's gossip column you go.
My old man is a Fulham fan. I'm a Spurs fan. I've seen more games than most of these two teams and I can definitely say he has not been a shadow of the player he was at Fulham. He's being asked to play a different role, but there is no way in hell he could be called a flop.
You are contradicting yourself, the above goes for what Rooney could sell for yet you are saying he is no where near a 50m player...
Back to the intelligent conversations in the thread![]()
Well then in simple terms I strongly disagree
As opposed to Clint Dempsey who played regularly for Fulham and scored a plethora of goals whereas at Liverpool, he's featured sporadically with limited success - to wit, a flop.
Dempsey plays for Liverpool now, who knew.

Whoops Spurs!
By the way, just read an article in the Mirror - Rooney is "valued at £35m".....
.....strange that
Contradicting yourself again, thought we weren't supposed to use newspaper speculation as a metric for players value?
Especially in the mirror!
