Wish we were offering 57m for a defender rather than for Keita (irrespective of how good he is) , only way that I will be happy with splashing 60m+ on Keita is if it doesnt shortchange us for defenders. If it takes any chunk of funding for defence improvements, then I dont want it.

I've lost hope with our defence really have we haven't been been linked credible with any one since dijk and since that's been a shambles klopp either thinks there is still a chance or we're sticking with what we have. Defence should have been sorted for preseason
 
If Arsenal have Lemar then thats a very good signing, steep for a young player but given how crazy the market is, it could be worse!

Keita is amazing, far better than Pogba, but he should stay with RBL regardless of how much they are offered and develop further with them. They play great football and I can wait to see them in the champions league.

Neither can I. But if we do but Lemar then that pretty much says Sanchez is off.
Although Wenger is adamant that Sanchez will be staying this season. But that's typical Wenger though.
If Sanchez is off then hopefully it won't be a long drawn out process like RVP et al.
 
Keita and VVD supposedly LFC players by 5pm according to the salt mill on Twitter.

I don't believe it for a second, but would be epic if they were.

Lucas also off to Lazio.

LOL both we will be lucky to get one of them imo, lucas I actually would like us to keep and let him fill in at cb over klavan myself.

That being said he has been great for us over the years and deserves to leave how he wishes imo

EDIT: No idea who graeme Kelly is but he is claiming to have knowledge that we have now agreed a fee for keita

City don't think about money at any point I suspect, walker isn't terrible far worse players plus I don't get why walker has moved clubs really, spurs are doing good and team is over all more balanced city needs a rebuild

No doubt he's been given a substantial pay rise by City. Could be as much as double what he was getting at Spurs.
 
Not exactly a transfer but I think if it's true we get keita we then need to get can a new contract as much as last season he did have some very poor matches I think he did some great ones and still bags of potential
 
City love spending loads of money on really average defenders.

How much have they now spent on a crap defence?

Stones - £50m
Mangala - £42m
Otamendi - £30m
Walker - 50m

Walker is OK but I have never heard anyone say "Walker is a great defender I wish he played for my team" or any such praise.
