'Why he can't play for them against United?'?
That was a why do they want to recall him when he cannot play against United. I think the other poster understood that as well when he quoted me.

Yes.

Dean Henderson needs to stay at the Blades for another couple of seasons. He is the future if he continues to improve. De Gea will get his move to Madrid and he will become the new number 1 and more than likely England's number 1 as well.

Also yes.

Sheffield United are a big threat for that 5th place. It makes total sense to weaken them.

Man Utd spent £150m on three players in the summer. If you total up all of Sheff Utd's transfers in the history of the club, you would struggle to get to that figure, even when including the £60m spent this year. If Man U need to take advantage of the epidemic by recalling a player they can't even play in order to finish higher in the league, then how embarrassing is that?

Ai I agree it would be. It isn't helped that they spent the majority of that 150mil on a fridge though.

I went over this last summer, I'd take him back in a heart beat. I'm not sure he flopped at Bayern either - 17 goals and assists in 2000 minutes for a midfielder is very good. His record at Barca isn't bad either but fitting him and Messi in the same side requires 2 balls on the pitch as they both want to be the centre of everything.

It's not happening though, unfortunately.

By being the centre of everything, surely that would take away from Firmino, who's the heartbeat of the team now, were he to come back?

I didn't think he had more than 10 goals for Bayern, 17 would be far more impressive.

Can we institute a new rule this year for the transfer thread? If you share a rumour you have to either link an article/tweet or at least name it in your post. It would save people having to ask/guess.

Good luck getting people to do that. If it's @Mark1989 then his source will be twitter though :p

Firmino is instrumental to the side and how we play but he's not a playmaker - it's not like he drops deep and starts pinging passes about. The only thing our side lacks is a little bit of guile in midfield, somebody that can play the clever pass into Firmino. I suppose we have it in Keita but he cannot stay fit for more than a fortnight and more importantly, Coutinho would give us some cover for Salah & Mane.

And the 17 is combined goals and assists - 9 goals and 8 assists in the League and Bundesliga and that was only from just over 1800 minutes, not 2000. A goal or assist every 107 minutes for a midfielder is extremely good. KdB, who's possibly having his best ever season, is averaging a goal or assist ever 94 minutes in the League and CL.

Who says he starts? If Shaq goes out and Phil comes in it's a massive upgrade.

Not sure I want Coutinho back. Sure Lallana is off but I think having him back will limit Minamino and Jones play time and even limit Keita to sub appearances. I don’t think we need him at all.

Good luck getting people to do that.

Wouldn't it be the same as all the other threads that have rules

Just thought it might be an idea to make this thread less ****. We have so many low effort posts that give no useful information.

"coutinho back"

So deal is done? bid is made? player has announced he wants the move? Your grandma has said she fancies him?

I agree entirely with the principle, I'm just not sure about the practicalities. I suspect a lot of people will ignore the request and will be difficult and time consuming to police. I'm not exactly going to suspend somebody for not providing a source and equally I don't really fancy having to find the source myself and edit all these posts.

I can make a note in the OP and title though, hopefully people will play ball.

Haha awww you thought of me ;)

Besides not all of twitter is bad! Anyway in regards to countinho rumours it's not gonna happen however I'd take him back.

We never replaced him and he does offer something different.

Keita is only limited by appearance cause thus far he has only proven to be injury prone for us

I'd take Coutinho back but he'd need to be clear that his role was for specific matches or situations. In certain matches where we need a little more creativity in midfield, he'd be perfect ahead of a Hendo/Fabinho double pivot, and he is certainly capable of changing any game off the bench. His wages and attitude towards that role would have to be right, though.

If the stories are true that Werner is going to refuse to play for Leipzig in the CL then I half hope that Utd pip Chelsea to the final CL spot.

Edit: actually that's not true, I hope Sheffield Utd and Wolves finish 4th and 5th.
