It's not the deal you dream of but I can see some merit. Ighalo goes back in January and tbh he is rubbish - not the sort of player that fits with the way the team is playing. Cavani will bring on our young strikers potentially and can be a decent back up. How many top class strikers would you get for £20m over two years. Only thing is - I confess I dont know that much about him. However it doesn't paper over the fact that the three key positions we needed to bolster have been neglected - Ie a Left sided CB with pace, a left back and a right sided forward to replace James.
 
It’s the usual United story. Penny pinching or dragging negotiations out for an extra couple of million less when that difference is easily made up with one round further in champions league or one place higher in the PL. here just so, so tight. If you’ve offered £30M and the club want £35, grab their hand, shake it and say done. £5m is nothing to a club the size of United but they’re obsessed with getting what they see as good value.

Sancho is a good example. Dortmund said £100m by August 12th or he stays. United refused to meet the valuation with bids that were rejected immediately. Yet still they believe they can get him with bids only a few million higher each time. Dortmund both don’t have to, or want to sell and set a deadline. United are embarrassing.

20 mil over two years? Youre absolutely dreaming there. That will be his and his agents fee nevermind wages. Secondly he's the same age as your all time leading goal scorer...would you take Rooney back now?

Agree to disagree here, I don't mind Cavani as a player himself but its just yet another scrambled over paying (wage wise in this case) on a player last minute.

The lack of structure at UTD is just laughable
 
In isolation I'm not against having a decent experienced striker at the club, and he's probably better than Ighalo.

But it just seems rushed, if we can get a couple more deals done it will be better, but I'm far from hopeful...
 
Pereira (who? you make ask; valid question) out on loan. We can't even shift the deadwood. I guess there's still time to offload to the EFL?
 
We're on the verge of signing another Uruguayan, Facundo Pellestri. A young right winger, FM 20 wonderkid :p Seems he might go back to them on loan though. I wish whoever was in charge of our youth recruitment would take over the senior team, we've made some great signings over the last few years.
 
I expect another two signings at least befor e Monday or whenever the final day is

Cavani is better than Ighalo

Let's not forget how old Ibrahimovic was and what a season he had

Didn't you all moan how you played with Ibra in the team? Despite him scoring a fair few? The guy is so slow, I'm guessing it will be similar with Cavani
 
If we hadn't extended ighalos deal then yes cavani wouldn't have been a bad option.

But at the same time, in the 80th min if we want to send in a striker to win headers in the box then cavan could do it. A bit of a giroud signing but older obviously.
 
Leeds have just about signed winger Raphinha for 17m +add ons from Rennes, Bielsa has finally found his quick as **** winger. We still need a number 10 though
