Having slept on it I'm not unhappy with Cavani, assuming more players come in too. If he can maintain a good level of fitness he's a very experienced, hard working striker. A lot of people who cover Ligue 1 say he's always been one of their better players and is far from past it. His goal record over his career is great too.
The issue is, if it's just him the team really won't improve much as a whole, and we still won't progress this season.
And still the much greater issue is, he's been available since July, the fact we've rushed to sign him in the last 2 days is really quite pathetic. Apparently that meant we could get him on a much lower wage, but that could just be a positive spin on it from the club.
