Summer Transfer Window 2021/2022

So you want it sorted gradually but you aren’t bothered about paying well over the odds in wages when we bring in new players?

Wage structure is massively important to every part of a club. It dictates who you can sign, the hierarchy of players, what youth players will get paid. It’s quite amazing the difference clubs pay their top players simply due to wage structures. We won’t be able to sell DDG or Pogba easily partially due to their wages.

I really don't care that much. There's no quick fix and we need the best players in or face more years in the wilderness (in terms of the absolute top level). The club can afford it.

It's going to be virtually impossible to sign any elite level players, no matter how old they are, on 'low' wages. So we are where we are.

A Japanese journo has reported that Minamino has left the Japan squad due to "club circumstances" - I guess he's going to tie up a transfer somewhere. No surprise really, as soon as he was allowed to leave in January when we were struggling for goals you knew Klopp clearly didn't fancy him. With another forward likely to arrive this summer and Curtis Jones playing a more active role (+ Elliott possibly), he wasn't going to feature.

I feel for the guy, was never really given a good run in the team.

Surely it's because they sign players who are perceived to be better?
To some extent but if you take the superstars from 'lesser' teams they are usually at least as good as the average players at the top clubs yet on less money. The likes of RvP and Alexis didn't miraculously become better players when the transferred to Man United.

No, but their perceived stock rose

I think he was responding to the Sancho, Pogba De Gea chat just prior to the Minamino talk.

On Minamino, a couple of Liverpool based journo's said that his leaving of the Japan squad had nothing to do with any transfer and it was prearranged that he'd not be involved after the Serbia(?) game. I'll be surprised if he stays at the club though, not unless we shift both Shaq & Origi and even then I wouldn't bet on him staying.

Villa have had a bid for ESR rejected. Bit of a bizarre one as he'd be similar to Buendia, and even weirder if they're planning on hanging on to Grealish.

We've also had a £40mil bid for Ben White rejected by brighton

Ramos is leaving Madrid. Wonder where he ends up..
I find this hilarious. He attempted to hold Madrid to ransom for a longer and more lucrative deal and listened to offers from elsewhere. When the offers were much lower than what Madrid were offering he went back to Madrid to accept their offer only to be told the offer wasn’t on the table anymore. Brilliant! Absolute scum of a player.

I love him he is absolute comedy gold, just pure entertainment.

£25m was an insulting bid. Hell be worth double that in a year or two imo.
