Summer Transfer Window 22/23

Your glass is permanently half full.

I feel like I’m pretty cynical in general, I don’t have much faith in the club at all. I was hoping Rangnick would have a proper role but that went out of the window when he told the Glazers half of the squad needed binning.

My one hope is that we do have a ‘proper’ manager now and that will help a lot, but the club don’t appear to be giving him enough resources to carry out a proper rebuild.

Worrying signs.

Is ETH even in charge of transfers and PanicBuychester United? Strikes me as it's someone who's above him, especially as we're panic buying the day after a loss. Someone has pushed that through.

I'm sure it'll all be fine, we'll be good for a nice top 8 finish

Cant believe that Utd are going for Rabiot. Rabiots agent has been pushing for him to move to the Premier League for years now. In the last 5 years alone he was supposedly going to Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal at various times, however at no point did any of those teams actually put in a bid for him. That should be red flag enough. It was only in June of this year that Rabiot supposedly stated that he wanted to come to the Premier League this summer but only to a Champions League team and as such specifically mentioned Liverpool, City, Spurs and Chelsea as his desired destination. The annual Man Utd panic buy imo.

Maybe not recently but for a good while a number of Utd fans were very defensive of any criticism of McTominay in particular.

I agree with you re not being able to rebuild the entire team in one window but your midfield situation does sum up the ridiculous disjointed approach Utd have had to transfers and squad building for sometime. Utd have needed to upgrade their central midfield options for a good 3 years and would have known for sometime that Pogba and Matic were both off this summer, making midfield reinforcements even more of a pressing issue and yet 3 weeks until the end of the window and you're in this situation.

Whatever Utd's plans were 24, 18, 12 or even 6 months ago have just been ripped up, the keys have been handed to ETH and he's been wished all the best. For one of the biggest clubs in the world to still be run this way is criminal. For the past 12 months Utd should have had a list of realistic and attainable midfielders lined up ready for this summer.

Your glass is permanently half full.

100% like where is their strategy signing the likes of Rabiot???

United have now officially taken the title of Banter FC held by Arsenal for the past two decades. R.I.P.

Rabiot is such a silly signing. It goes against everything I thought ETH would bring to the club. I guess that means FDJ is not happening.

We have such a good academy why isn't James Garner been given a chance? I thought this would be the way of ETH.

Just when you think Man United can't become any more ridiculous.
We cheered when Woodward left and now it's worse. Interesting that Rangnick's view is looking all the more correct and they booted him out because he "said it as it was". Brought him in to give a direction, a recruitment strategy to support that desired pattern of play (presumably one that can compete with Europes top clubs) and then decided that wasn't the right strategy when the useless team downed tools. It's the best example of "farce" I can think of. They have sucked the joy out of supporting a team for the first time in 40 years.

oh @adam cool dude - apparently Garner is going to be loaned if Rabiot signs. Why not loan McFred!!

Have we actually bought Rabiot or is this just another case of "if you write it the muppets will come" from the media.

It's reported on sky sports that the deal is agreed and they are working on Arnautovic. If Arnautovic sign as well that will be hilarious.
