Summer Transfer Window 22/23

It's panic buying... but I guess there's no other option. This squad can't compete for the top 4, and if they want to attract prospective stars (and sponsors) i'm guessing they feel the need splash whatever they can try in order to fight for a place in the champions league next year.

I imagine it's long term project goals vs short term 'success' and unfortunately the chase for FDJ looks like it's going to land them in the middle which isn't great.

Why waste money on Casemiro. Real will have United's pants down to just try and sign him.

Ruben Neves is coming into his prime and would be reasonable to have bought and is proven premier league plus I think he only has 1 year left on his contract. You can debate how good he is but he would be a massive improvement for us in CDM. 50 ish million to buy and has gotten goals every season.

Why waste money on Casemiro.
because;
that's what we do, waste money
we've missed out on our primary target in midfield
fans are getting antsy so Glazers are trying to sweeten them up a bit....gotta get that marquee signing.

nothing much's has changed at the club. ETH is likely the next fall guy for the clubs inability to be run as a football club.

Yea, that was everyone's reaction when they saw the story too. Supposedly it's only £25m up front with another £7m odd in realistic add-ons plus some very ambitious ones to take it to £44m.

It's a risk, but if we're going to gamble, this is the strategy I'd favour.

Mostly young players who the club think will maintain or increase their value playing under a coach renowned for getting the best out of young players.
