Summer Transfer Window 22/23

Didnt norwich try to employ the same strat as forest are doing

Didn't go too well

Only in so much as Man Utd have the same strategy as Liverpool and Man City, spending lots of cash on big name players!

It's just some teams do the same thing well with the right structure in place, I'm hoping that's how it works out.

As a Wolves fan I'm happy with the Gibbs-White deal. Hopefully it ends up like the Jota deal which was good for both clubs and the player. MGW has all the ability but is unproven at the level. I'd have rather kept him but considering he wasn't signing a new contract, a decent fee is a good result.

Norwich owners penny pinch. Forest's owner is a massive drug lord who isn't scared to splash the cash.
Nothing to do with how or where the cash comes from

Signing the amount of players forest have in one go in a brand new league is a recipe for disaster imo they have no time to settle i still see forest going down

I thought that as well but they were fantastic against West Ham and Cooper did quite the turnaround in the championship last season. I think Forest are going to be the surprise of the season.

Indeed. Never really hit the heights expected and one good season in the championship doesn't make you a 30m+ player.

Has paid for nunes ultimately but do worry about the depth of the squad

Wait are we offering over 60m for Casemiro who's 30 and offering to double his wages?

And we are trying to sign Pulisic on loan from Chelsea?

And Begovic when we just sent out Henderson on loan?!

And offered 110m for Felix when Dybala could have offered a similar role for free? Felix has never scored more than 20 per season in Spain. Dybala got 15 last season 17 the season one but one before.

Am I living I'm some parallel fantasy world where these all sound like terrible ideas?

Why aren't we signing 22-25 year old players who haven't had their big move yet or picking up free playerike Belotti/Dybala ?

They had to really as they lost around 12 or so players from last years squad through loans ending and players leaving.

Casemiro....it's like Utd are stubbornly refusing to learn their lesson.

It would be a worse signing than Pogba or Martinez.

I always consider the quality of the player AND the economics of it.

If we hadnt screwed up on pogbas contract we could have at least sold him for 30-40m maybe more.

In 2 years when Casemiros legs are gone and we are paying him just under 400k a week, who will buy him and for what price?

It would belike Matic and Mata all over again but way way worse. He'd be there one wheeling about until his contract expired.

Oh and he's one for you all, Martinez doesn't work out , who can we hope will buy him and for how much? Will it be another Wan Bissaka , sell for 10m and lose 50m on him? Are we so stupid every time?

A very quick one because this threads the most popular but West Ham are playing their Europa tie on BT atm. Just in case anyone wanted some football to watch.
