Superman: Legacy

Man of Steel is underrated. IMO, it's aged like wine.

I have/had issues with it, but it really is a great film.

Agree with this.. watched it again just the other day.. and it reminded me how good a DC superhero movie actually can be..

MoS was brilliant when it came out and it's got better with age. BvS has aged really well too.

Bwhahahaha! Superdog?! Also, could only think of Top Gun with the music.

But, James Gunn.

Probably not a cinema visit for me, but will deffo watch.

The characters in this trailer including Krypto work really really well in the animation versions and CW shows.

Maybe we're reading the tone of this all wrong, it's bait and switch.

Trailer is all in the first 5 mins then Luthor kills Krypto (superdog) and Kent goes full John Wick for 2 hours...

Now that's a Superman plot I would go see.

Didn't expect this to be an all-time classic but from the trailer, it does look fun. I'll be avoiding further trailers that The Shadow and Glanza will be posting and looking forward to watching the full movie.

what was terrible about it? Let me guess. colour grading?
I’m going to answer a question with a question. Can you tell me what looks good about it?

It seems to be trying to do a more fun angle, which is admirable, but to me it just looks like another DC film, with some James Gunn-isms.

Not sure what colour grading has got to do with anything?

Dont why if it is just me but I absolutely loved that teaser. Gave me alsorts of joy and fun feelings. Felt the look and feel were spot on.
Please no more reboots, stop ruining classic films
It's not a reboot. It's simply a new adaptation of a comic book that's been around since 1938.

Colour grading has been the straw man argument for the film sucking, based upon a whole 30 seconds of preview. A lot of the snyder bros seem to be taking exception to the fact that the film doesn't look "cinematic".

What is another DC film at this point? They complete **** the bed with the snyderverse. We haven't had a superman that's hopeful and colourful since Reeve left the screen.

Couldn't agree more.

For me this film looks and feels like a comic come to life. Fun, hopeful and wonderful. While I enjoyed MoS it was a soulless colourless world, devoid fun fun and wonder.

Snyder didn't seem to understand what made Superman so appealing to people. Superman being someone we looked up to in awe, saving people whenever there was danger and not ploughing through a city killing thousands of innocent people. He would take the fight away from them keeping them safe.

I'll worry when reports of it testing badly and needing a fourth round of reshoots before it's due in theatres start to circulate. Until then, I think it'll be pretty solid. Corenswet looks like a good fit, Lois looks like lois and not whatever the hell amy adams was supposed to be - initial signs with the tone looks good. The only thing i'm actually worried about is the choice of John Murphy as composer.

Snyder clearly didn't understand the assignment. No one's been asking for another deconstruction of the superhero, no one was asking for a superman trilogy where he spends the first film "establishing who he was and why he has a no kill rule", and no one was asking for superman and zod to completely wreck his home town and metropolis while Hans zimmer riffs out to his (admittedly fantastic career highlight) soundtrack. If Snyder had been told to do the Dark Knight returns, I'd have watched the film multiple times because Snyder does Nihilism. Snyder does not do hopeful or optimistic, and then to pair him up with david goyer of all people was just a terrible idea.

No one wanted the visual masturbation scene that was superman snapping Zod's neck. No one. If they did, Man of Steel would be getting a sequel.
