Supplements the debate/discussion thread

You're both liars. You just want all the balls for yourself (fnarr)..........

Srs tho, I find they work great. They 100% stop me from getting clumps of Recovery XS at the bottom of my shaker when it's been sat there dry all day.

I'm with you on this, the others are just plain wrong!

The wire ball shakers are amazing. Talking about extra cleaning in a non event, you just rinse the thing under the tap or stick it in the dishwasher, it's hardly rocket science :p

I've never used either...I just use a hand whisk, but I don't have shakes at work/at the gym so don't need a shaker at the moment

The mesh doesn't stop the powder sticking to the bottom of the shaker, and can also occasionally cause clumps to form on it!

Water in, tip upside down to get the powder off the bottom, then shake as normal

As said earlier, hardly rocket science

Just to confirm you can infact use an egg cup but due to the nature of the vessel it may only provide you with 86% of the calories so adjust serving sizes accordingly.

I'd put the whey in afterwards personally. Unless the shakers have some compartment? :p

You can get some cool mini tubs now, you could keep the whey in that ;)

I don't use a wireball for whey but i do for casein! :p

The MP casein can sometimes be a bitch to shake right; it seemed worse before they started doing the flavoured stuff.

My casein feels like it has small grit pieces in it yeah, but nothing to warrant a gag reflex. And that's just after a small whisking.

I've had lumps in my whey before (it just solidified for some reason upon entry - Ooh er) that was a tad awful tasting.

I just store the whey and creatine dry in the shaker, making sure the shaker is 100% dry before doing so. Then I just add water whenever I need it later on. Absolutely smooth, and makes no difference if there's a ball or not.

Now it may be different if you're storing it a long time with the water already in it, or the shaker was wet when you added the powder and now there are rock hard clumps.

Anyone want to buy my wire ball? Well you can't, I binned it.

the old unflavoured casein would be lumpy if you didn't mix it enough but would go so think you couldn't drink it if you mixed it too much. It looked and tasted like baby sick.

The new choc one is much better.

I will post this here as well as its more applicable to the Supplementation thread.

Protein

What's everyone thoughts on this is the news recently.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/19449377

Since protein shakes are consumed in the millions you'd think it would be more apparent that they were causing some damage to your kidney and liver.
I'm not sure if I agree or not. Is it possible they are just being choosey on some ridiculous brand that is offering like 90g of protein per shake or something.

I also don't understand the science behind you body filtering protein, I can see your liver struggling to convert it maybe, but removing it. Why would it need too?
