Jimbo were you taking it on an empty stomach? I find if you have had a meal prior then most Pre WO drinks arent very effective.

Just tried my first pre workout from MyProtein - Pulse v4.

First dose, I used the "beginner" of 8g 30 mins before my workout but had another 8g just before the workout because I didn't feel too much.

Second dose, I used the "experienced" dose of 17g. Felt a bit more from this and a tiny tingle in the face.

Third dose (tonight), I went for 25g and still didn't feel that much from it - maybe a *little* more pump. I only weigh 57kg too.

Somewhat disappointed, but I suspect most of the "oomph" comes from the caffeine, which I'm extremely tolerant of due to the amount of coffee I drink and my genetic profile (fast caffeine metabolism according to the results from 23andme.com).

Might try buying the main ingredients separately and dosing with them individually (e.g. citrulline malate; arginine alpha-ketoglutarate and beta alanine).

Don't let Steedie hear you admiting to using Pulse :D

Anyone else get free myprotein muffins today? I got two. A nice surprise to come home too!

Yep, I got some delivered on Wednesday. Probably because I spend ridiculous amounts of money with them!!

Oh, and I also won a competition on the worst sporting injury and won some free knee straps! Woop woop!

Nah it's not your caffeine tolerance, it's just the fact that Pulse is ****

Just so you all know. Hydrolysed whey tastes like "£$$ and when you consider who this information is coming from take it serious. I added a ton of nesquick to it, which i really didnt want to do as i didnt want carbs, and it was still awfull. Anyone who has tried Creatine EE powder? Its the same!

Not looking for any supps, but any tips on energy food before the gym? Caffeine has no effect on me, I usually have porridge in the morning and a banana before the gym. Is the rest just a mental game?

I changed over from afternoon training to morning training around 3 months ago. It's a tough change, at first I was just having my morning shake (70g instant oats, 30g whey 5g creatine) and some blueberries. I found that my energy was flagging half way through my workouts so I started having a banana as well. The rest is about getting a good nights sleep (7+ hours and I am fine, less then 7 and I really feel it) and mind over matter.

I always eat before the gym, workouts are much better. Depending what I'm doing before the gym its normally rice and chichken, baked tattie and chicken or oats and whey in a shake.

As far as I know, I've only ordered one lot before and that was Vanilla also, and that was pretty much identical to MPs Vanilla
