Supplements the debate/discussion thread

Went from 18-12 being ill and kind of screwed my head up about food intake. Slowly conquering it though.

Fuark bro, if I went from 18-12 I would be ecstatic. Relive all those teenage fumbles, have access to real porn at the age I needed it, and most importantly start lifting earlier.

Time machine diet - not even once.

Hey all,

Looking for some supplement advice for a total beginner.

I've been going to the gym for around a year on and off - just to maintain a level of fitness, as I sit at a desk all day.

Generally I've always had a hard time putting on weight and have a small frame being 6ft in height and weigh about 12 and 1/2 stone (skinny PH46607), and would ideally like to get to 15 stone.

I'm looking to use the 'starting strength' program to ease myself into building but am a little unsure about supplements to go along side my diet.

Is what I have above a good starting point or could some one point me in the right direction?

The Chocolate Cookies flavour whey is awesome. I have a food processor, so I just buy Quaker Oats and chop them to fine, also having a food processor is useful for making your own nut butter and protein bars etc.

If you use the code MJ22982 it will get you £5 off your first order at Bulk Powders.

My diet at the moment, I feel on whole, is good with room for improvement.

I eat a lot of vegetables / chicken / fruit / I drink a lot of water and tend to prepare food fresh to avoid processed food. I do tend to eat the odd chocolate bar at lunch as well as snack at night - which I'll be looking to cut out completely.

The concern I have is being able to gain weight, my attempts in the past haven't proved fruitful which I expect it due to lack of protein / calories. I tend to have three meals a day with barely anything in-between bar fruit.

I was hoping supplements would help me increase my protein in-take through out the day, as well as looking hard at my diet and increasing my protein/calorie in-take else where.
