Supplements the debate/discussion thread

Whoever recommended the Cherry Bakewell whey from TPW is so so wrong, the stuff is vile

Exposure to UV light, actually.

So being outdoors is one thing, but if you're covered, it's pointless.

Hence why a lot of the culturally traditional Middle Eastern/African people in this country are vitamin D deficient. And why there was a case in Southampton, last year (IIRC) of a child with rickets: their mum slathered them in Factor 50 every time they went out in the sun... so whilst they didn't burn, they developed severe bone weakness.

There is also an urban myth about everybody north of Nottingham needing Vit D supplementation of some description because of the relative weakness of the sun north of those latitudes...

intredasting

i dont use sun cream at all in the UK, so i reckon i should be okay for now, it may be worth taking during winter then? when your more covered up?

I take supplements and I don't notice any difference in how I am/feel. It cost me £13 for a year's supply (as pointed out above) and so it's a supplement I don't mind paying for given the unreliability of sunshine in this country...

wouldn't it be better to just take a multi vit then instead to cover all the bases?

i already have opti-men and orange triad, i usually take one every few days rather than the 3 a day they suggest. both have vitamin D in them as well as a host of other stuff.

What form of vit D and at what quantity? These are the important things. D2 is basically useless.

Never used to bother with multi vits. When I was cutting for few month I started getting cracks and sores on my mouth from lack vitamins (according to google)
Bought elite man from tpw and it cleared up after week or so.Stopped taking them and cracks came back so they clearly work.

Don't know what was in them but they were bloody massive capsules :p

Vitamin D3 is next to useless if it's not suspended in oil IIRC so the small amount you get from a general dry multi vit isn't going to do much good.
