Supplements the debate/discussion thread

No problem :)
SnC goes well in porridge and smoothies, it's why I've stuck with it for so long.

i can burn 250 calories in under 15 mins on a treadmill

anyone spending x hours doing the same has some serious issues

your calories burnt depends on your weight/age/height/sex/excess fat etc and how good your body is at using energy the more you train the less you use obviously to a point

I can go do a bike ride and burn 1900 calories infact I did today 44km in around 3 hours.

Someone uber fit etc will burn afar less (not that I'm uber fat or anything 93kg @ 6"2-3

My rents are in the US at the mo, got them to buy the variety pack of Xtend since it's way cheaper out there - only had a tub of the v1 apple which was eh, not tried any of the v2 flavours and don't want to commit to a tub so this is a safe way of seeing what's decent...

Btw, quick question guys - do any of you have anything specifically for pre-workout?, currently I lift at 7AM & have a couple of scrambled eggs & bacon for breakfast along with some BCAA, then a post-workout shake (with a little more BCAA mixed in).

Is this more than enough, or should I pack some extra calories in before my workout to increase my energy?, I can't tell if being tired/lack of energy is a result of being on a diet generally (18months) or just due to the fact I'm eating not that much in the early morning.

I'm getting a reasonable amount of protein/fat early in the morning - just not much else.

I'd get something with carbs in it before your workout, banana would be ideal if you just want something quick and easy to prepare.

But if truth be told, unless you're eating a couple of hours at least before your workout, your body won't really benefit from any extra energy sources, your energy will come from how you ate the day before, especially when training in the morning

I normally only use BCAA if training fasted, which in your case you're not as you'll be eating in the morning. So save yourself some cash :) As Steedie said, fill up the night before and this should give you the energy for the morning.

I suppose then, if you decide to skip your breakfast, you can always use the BCAA before and after.

Guys, he's a non-clique member, you have to argue with everything he says.

I used to go nuts with caffeine and stuff, but then realised all it did was make me twitchy. Now, I don't have anything aside from a cup of coffee (I normally train in the morning at that time, too).

Well, I eat just under 2 hours before training when I do - so might have enough time to get in something a little more significant - I don't eat late night really as I can't fit in that many meals while maintaining a deficit - once I start my bulk mind I'll be able to add a few small meals.

Yeah, cup of coffee, 2 eggs, 2 bacon is all I do at the moment - if I get up late just BCAA + coffee.

I used to train in the evening after work at about 5.30, then have the main meal just after - also felt like I had more energy at that time of day compared to training at 7am.

Cheers for the tips anyway guys.

Hey,
I'm looking to buy some whey and I see a few people have moved from mp to tpw. Is there any particular reason? mp seems slightly cheaper (o2 priority moments brings 2.5kg mp down to same price as tpw 2kg) so is it a case of better customer service or better flavours/nutrition?

If there are good flavours then any recommendations I tend to go with water or at most 100ml milk topped up with water so like a bit of flavour.

Cheers

For myself it boils down to being the slightly better all round package. Everything I need is a bit cheaper, shipping was less painless and although taste is subjective, very palatable. And good old fashioned manly packaging lol

Edit: Code pimpage.Mc26041 for freestuffz. Easy to remember code hehe

Is it just me or has tpw stuff gone up in price?
becoming a bunch of greedy sods if you ask me.

Might start using bulkpowder, seem like decent brand and a lot cheaper.

Some of their stuff has definitely seen a price increase, but it's to be expected I suppose with their increase in popularity

I've noticed this too. Every supplement company goes down this route. Start very cheap notice they are getting a lot of demand and powaaaaa them prices up. For bros'sake dont follow the trend because they start too lose it.

I knew this would happen when they brought out the pancake mix! :p
