Supplements the debate/discussion thread

Wonder if anybody can help.

I've just recently had surgery on my shoulder to reconstruct the ligaments holding my clavicle in place., I was never carrying a great deal of bulk but I was fit and strong. In the past 3 weeks of being able to do literally nothing with my right arm I've lost what muscle and definition I had.

My physio is very limiting and obviously I'm not looking to do any damage but I would like your opinions on whether any supplements may be of use here.

My op has caused a reasonable amount of muscle damage and soreness, Also I'm struggling to make proper meals during the day :(

TLDR; had an op on my shoulder and looking for any supplements that may aid my recovery.

TIA :)
mrthingy has already given you some great advice, but it also worth mentioning that the best thing you can do for your recovery is to get healthy range and position back in your shoulder, and get it strong. Make sure your physio is up to scratch (consider doing some research for a local physio wizard, if you're near Oxford I can help), and follow their advice to the letter.

Also, check out the mobility thread.

All these issues popping up on these forums about My Protein making me reconsider bothering to buy from there again tbh.

Really? I've never had an issue with them - they've always been exceptional. And when they cocked up once, I got another equivalent order for free. Just depends on how you deal with their CS forums and how strong a case you have.

I'm a serial letter writer though if I don't get what I expect in terms of service! :p

How has it been "working"? :)

Yeah i know protein powders aren't wonder magic body changing drinks like some people think they are(good for me on days where i am still eating 4-5 times a day but know i've lacked protein somewhat) but i mean the ones from MP aren't bloating me whereas ON ones can. :( Is there a reason for it? i liked the ON flavours aswell and they mixed well.

It depends on what they bulk out the powders with (if they do at all, they do this less now) and the quality of the whey, what percentage it is (80%-90% etc...), if it isolate or not, how much dairy there is in there, and whether or not you're lactose intolerant or not. Plus a multitude of manufacturing processes.

What issues with TPW? I've not seen any and I don't really count getting a handful of scoops in your powder as a real issue.
