Free "chocolate flavour syrup" with the scoop, right?
Yummy :p

let me know how it goes and what tastes good
Well I just had strawberry and cream with milk and it was lovely. Just like a strawberry milkshake. No complaints here, which is good because that was the one I took a punt on and ordered 1kg. Seems well rated on the comments etc too. 96% whey which seems to be the highest possibly for the flavoured ones. Chocolate smooth is only 91%.

So it looks like I should have paid more attention to my first order from MP. I got a 5ml scoop, not a 70ml scoop :p Anywhere that I can get a 70ml scoop that would be suitable, without having to pay for shipping? MP are sold out of them.

At least I bought some taster packs so I have some portioned out already.. woops.

You get a free scoop in every bag from TPW so I have loads, if you need one give me a shout.

I'm a vegetarian, I don't eat much veg. Therefore I need to find a few things.

I take a Wellman tablet every morning to get my vits etc.. but I'm finding it hard to find my proteins etc.. especially after the gym.. Quorn gets sickening very quickly!

So with that in mind, I don't want to "bulk" I just want lean gain and repair.. what do people recommend I use?

I've read about Casein.. take some before bed to feed during the night.. is this required if I'm not training to gain.

Whey protein is also mentioned a lot.. but there are so many varieties out there.. what should I go for?

My current regime is:

Monday: Cardio (1hr)+ BJJ (1hr)
Tuesday : Cardio (1hr) + BJJ (1hr)
Wednesday: Cardio (1hr) + Kickboxing (2hr)
Thursday: Kickboxing (2hr)
Friday: Cardio (1hr)
Saturday: Rest
Sunday Kickboxing (2hr)

I've lost a lot of weight doing this.. 3.5 stones to be exact.. but I now want to provide my body with something to aid repair and minimal gains.

Any help?

When dieting, protein goes up relative to how much is needed at either maintenance or in a surplus primarily to try and spare muscle, since in a deficit more of the protein you will eat will be used by your body for more than just repair (v.s. in a surplus where your carb/fat intake will cover all the bases and leave protein do aid growth/repair). After that, you want a compromise between enough carbs for performance but not so many it limits your fat intake to something stupidly low.

Beans and lentils if you can spare the carbs
Quark (flavour it yourself)
Whey is just a dairy byproduct and the cheapest powdered protein... it's also all you need really - the best place to get it are the online retailers like MyProtein, TheProteinWorks, GoNutrition etc where you can buy large bags. You'd be looking at the basic concentrate stuff (no need for isolate or anything fancy). You can either drink this or use it to make stuff (protein fluff, protein oats etc) - usually a good idea on a diet because liquid calories aren't very filling and satiety / food volume is something you generally want to try and keep high to minimise hunger.

At the end of the day, it comes down to taste... and depth of pocket.

Your body doesn't really care - in general terms - but some broteins work better for people because of things like lactose content, etc.

Hmm, might be worth trying, I'm very happy with my last order from TPW but at £33 per 5 kg, Olympus seems like some very cheap stuff. Although it is mostly soy...

I dunno, still have plenty time to consider though and I haven't even started my sample of Apple Cinnamon Swirl...

I normally use Olympus protein - nothing wrong with this. Cookies & Cream is my favourite flavour. It has a thick texture, so you need to use it with lots of water. If shedding fat/weight, this is great, because it fills your belly up for less calories.

I realise that there are some elite athletes in here, who only want to use the most expensive protein shakes on the market, but I'm not one of them. For me, the best gains come from getting protein from food. I feel strongest when I have 3 cans of tuna the night before. Protein shakes are merely for supplementation.

I always advise people try a supplement out and if it works for you, then stick at it. No point in using a supplement that works for somebody else, but doesnt work for you.

Damn. Thats cheap. How did you it at that price?
I always thought that TPW were expensive.

I placed an order recently with My Protein. One of the products I ordered didn't arrive and another product I didn't order was in it's place.. A pot of 5-HTP. I contacted support and sent them a photo showing the incorrect item to which to their credit they told me I could keep or dispose of and dispatched the "correct" product.

Just received another parcel... Another pot of 5-HTP?! Not sure if they're trolling me now

Is there any point taking multivitamins or am I wasting my money? Just about to finish a tub of Myprotein daily vitamins and wondering if there is any point buying them again.

Do you eat a balanced diet? You should get most of what you need from your diet. I personally only supplement with Vitamin D during winter.
