Grabbed me some Superpump 250 today .Literally first thing I did upon arriving back in Lincoln was dump my backs at home, get this and the weekly shop! :p

Training tomorrow so will let you know how I get on!
Grabbed the 'Fruit Punch Blast' flavour and it smells a bit like bubble gum. Looks EXACTLY the same as the V-max.

I never understand why they make the containers so big. It's half full effectively. Probaly because they need the room to plaster it with crap like:

'INCREASE LEAN MASS WITH YOUR FIRST WORKOUT!!!!111ONE!!!'

And other such hilarious crap :rolleyes:

oooh lemme know how it goes, haha yeah my tub of Vassive is half full, yet BSN's Cellmass is a bigger tub yet full to the top! I wonder what filler they use in it! Its similar no. of servings also!
 
Superpump is a good product. Probably the best pre workout kick I've had off a product for the first few weeks until the effect wore off. You will easily notice the pump after about 20 minutes of training :)

Apparently its banned in Ireland because some lad overdosed on it :o

Oh dear, too much of anything is going to be bad for you.

Bit of an update in regards to dreams and ZMA.

I think it's safe to say it has affected my dreams a little. Not giving me such bad dreams to the extent of nightmares but one's that aren't particulary enjoyable.

For example last night: (god knows why I dreamt this - for the record my father has recently died)

'I was left a hard top convertable M5 (doesn't actually exist) In white and it was super quick, not the M3 I was for some reason expecting. But for some reason I was also left a new mondeo in a light green. God knows why but lots of people were kicking the **** out of the mondeo and in my dream at the time it was quite distressing.'

If we ignore that it doesn't make sense, like most dreams, it wasn't so bad as to wake me up but I was consciously aware I wasn't enjoying what I was dreaming. 13 hours after waking I can still recall bits of it quite vividly (that might just be me as I can with dreams every now and then).

I've had a few 'uncomfortable' dreams since supplementing with ZMA but I've also had some rather awesome ones too.

I may have dreamt the above for subconscious reasons as I've not really had time to deal with his death. What I'm trying to say is if you do try some ZMA, it might not happen but, be prepared for some unsettling dreams.

I feel a bit like I was actually in distress myself as opposed to experiencing it in a dream. It felt very real.

You may be un-affected completely etc etc you know what I mean.

For the record I have not inherited anyform of BMW or any car. The car I'm currently looking to replace my banger with is a Clio Sport so god knows why I dreamt of BMW's, though my dad did have a thing for them.

I can confirm the effect of Zinc on dreams as well. I did not take ZMA, took Zinc but the dreams were so damn realistic and vivid, nothing compared to old usual "forget as you wake up" ones.
 
Had another one last night the kind where you have to remind yourself/realise that none of it is real/happened :p

Currently I'm taking it about 90 minutes before I have my evening shake and then go to bed. I might drop it down to around 45-60 minute and see if it makes any difference (unlikely) but worth a shot.
 
Just had my morning shake (oats/whey), about to try my first 'episode' of V-Max in half an hour, looking forward to it :D They seem to have given me a 10g scoop? So 2 scoops for a serving! Probably make it seem like you're getting loads, but it still works out as 40 servings so I'm happy with that.

I have Lemon Crush, after digging out the scoop last night and licking my hands (LOL it was covered in white dust), it sure tasted good, like lime/lemon cordial neat!

Really let myself go over the last 2 weeks (year end at work and numurous other lame excuses!), so it all starts today!

I'm loosing my superpump virginity today :)

Licking the dust of your hands is good fun! If you want to play a joke on a friend shake the tub and then get him to breathe in as you remove the top, makes your nose sting like something crazy!

Yeah it's two scoops for a 20 gram serving. It does froth a bit of you shake it to mix, so sort of stir/swirl it around too. Drink the bubbles and burp them out no harm done!

Report back on how you found it!
 
Awesome.

Feel the beta-alanine even attacking my eyebrows! People probably thought I was crazy rubbing my ears and face! You can really feel it takes you through the workout, felt like I could keep going on and on, and no harsh comedown or anything :D On top of this, I could feel when I was overtraining as after a good few sets I was well up for a certain weight, but just couldnt do them. So perfect so far!

Feels more 'comfortable' than N.O. X-Plode. Thumbs up Benny, thanks for the rec!

Oh and Lemon Crush is total win!

I never got the itchyness associated with beta-alanine, but you do get a nice gradual come down.

Just got back from my upper hypertrophy session.

SP250 kicks in quite quickly, after 3 sets of incline press and 3 sets of pull down I already had quite a pump going. Didn't feel tired at all, but I am feeling quite sleepy now. Lots of focus not quite as much endurance but it'll take a while for my body to naturally adjust to the levels etc. Got a nice shoulder pump which I'm happy about as it's an area I struggle with.

Mixes well no problems. The fruit punch reminds me of the 'Tooty Fruity' sweets you used to be able to get. Tastes okay, not quite as tangy as the V-max. When I mixed it up I was a bit :eek: because this was what I was greeted with:

Looks like highlighter fluid! Was glowing like it was toxic or radioactive!

When I used the V-max I was doing a chest,back,legs and shoulder split as upposed to an upper lower. I think I will try this for a quick cycle once of each to compare to the v-max properly.

Considering I was only hitting each part in turns today I was still quite impressed with the pump. Thumbs up :)

Edit: Just K.O.'d with a friend watching some friends for about an hour and a half. Harsh comedown could be due to the fact I was travelling all day yesterday.

Deffinatley. Looking foward to feeling a more intense pump when I train just one part a day. I did 6 sets for arms, 3 bi's 3 tri's and they were near unbendable!

Strange colour relation! Yeah the tang really is a kick, found I had to drink it in gulps of 3 because my face was screwing up. This faded to not existant weather it be due to me tolerating it or the tub not being so 'fresh'.

100Kg x 8 reps x 4 sets and 3 sets x 60KG x 20 reps on V-max left me unable to stand! Quad pump was mega, there's a pic in the Picture thread of it.

I fully expect the effectiveness to drop over time and accept that as one of the characterstics of this kind of supplement. Luckily it's not something you can heavily rely on and there are other alternatives to boost energy and focus (caffine, herbal etc). However I don't lack these when training un-aided and am purely after a bigger pump and the associated benefits.
 
Phew, had a brekkie shake 60 mins before, and vmax 30 mins before workout, felt SO thirsty (not sure why.. combo of carbs and vmax? I have read that you 'should' drink loads with pump products)) went through about 1.5l during the workout (norm go through about .75 or 1l), and seeing as it was legs I started to feel sick! had to have a cold shower to shake off the nausea before taking the vassive-c5.

Lesson of the day.... eat something 90 minutes before, not 60, if taking a pump prod! Or you'll be tasting sour oats and whey while ya squattin!
 
Might be due to the fact your dehydrated from the nights sleep. And as the pump product is drawing more blood to your muscles (blood being over 90% water) should in theory make you really thirsty. Try not to over hydrate and drink plenty every day :)

Try some big sets of 20 reps and then limp home!

I don't know how you can train first thing in the morning. I tried it once and just found it wierd. I need to have been awake for several hours and eaten properly. and the walk to the gym is when I psych myself up.

Do you not feel a bit stiff in the morning despite warming up? I read that the spine is dehyradted for about an hour upon waking. Do you get any joint pain and the likes?
 
Well I did wake up at 10am!

Normally my workouts are after work, but in the morning I have even more energy, not really had any issues of stiffness, if anything its just for about 20 mins and a coffee sorts me right out!

Will take note of the water, I normally down it when I can but will make effort to spread it through the day! Didnt know that about the spine!
 
Personally I'm a bit of a Phd fanboy. The V-max has 10 grams of protein in it and a fair bit of L-Taurine (I think) so your getting good stuff to the muscles with the blood as opposed to just a big pump. People used to think pump products were just about the pump but the point behind pump products is to get more blood/nutrients to the muscles allowing you to train harder etc but you need to be fueling them properly too. Blowing up and looking like a 'unit' is just a side effect!

I've not used NO-Xplode yet but I've heard it can be a bit hit and miss. They all can be but I seem to have read more iffy things about this one.

Superpump 250 if you've been following I've just started a tub of. Over the next week I'll give it a proper comparison to the V-max I used last year as I'm going to revert back to the same training for 4 days to get a fair comparison. So far though I'd say its a bit more 'hardcore' than the V-max and has a harsher comedown too, like yesterday it full on wiped me out.

The choice is upto you but I wouldn't jump in at the deep end if I wasn't sure I could swim. Ideally I'd start with V-max or NO-Xplode see how you get on and if you like them, then go from there leaving about 4-6 weeks inbetween switching products.

I've read a lot of people saying 'SP250' is the best they've tried and it's very subjective as people will and do find different products better than others. I wouldn't start with the best you've nothing to look foward too :p

Whichever you like the sound of matey! Superpump can make you crash afterwards as stated above and I've read that in other places also, but some people say its the most effective.

I've tried N.O. X-Plode, and its great, its just a little expensive, as even though you get about 1kg of it, I ended up using about 2.5scoops (Recommended serving is 1-3 scoops), which is about 60g a serving I think?

With the VMax Pump you get 800g, but each serving is only 20g, its advised you DONT go over this, so I wonder how long the effects will sustain over time and use.

I'd be happy if someone gave me a bottle of N.O. X-Plode OR Vmax Pump, Vmax is def better value for money, and for what its worth tastes less 'chemically'.

Try em all matey :)

As said before if you have the funds buy 2 or 3 products and rotate :)

That should keep me a) pumped b) help recovery c) keep focus in the gym d) get those last reps.

It's a bit over kill, but my diet is going to go mad when I do it (I eat SO much on AGVT program) - though I keep it healthy and varied with lots of greens and vegetables, however it's the quantaties that go through the roof! I'll no doubt have a lot of water retention as a result. However I don't mind having excessive water as it's quite tough on your joints as it's a pretty full on program, and water retention is actually good for, pump, muscle activation and joint care when training hard.

Sounds like a lot, and it is, but the quantities are quite small, a lot of them are usually premixed for you, in NO explode and other pump and recovery products - but I'm having a go at making my own stacks. The problem with other pre-made mixes is that their quantities are disproportionate, and IMO, wrong. They can't cater for your training regime, body shape or training style.

I'm likely to balloon a little (I'll try and keep it to a minimum obviously), but the key is strength and mass. And it relaly worked for me in the summer, I ended the program and was repping 140kg bench, and 180kg squats for breakfast (well almost... brunch maybe?! :D ).
