• Competitor rules

    Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. The full rules can be found under the 'Terms and Rules' link in the bottom right corner of your screen. Just don't mention competitors in any way, shape or form and you'll be OK.

Surely even I can't be THIS unlucky!

It still does not explain the issue with safe mode. Safe mode only uses default Window drivers, to which your new GPU should display the Windows OS on. It seems that there must be a serious driver conflict.

This is clear as from as far as I can tell;

Fine in BIOS.
Fine in a boot manager etc.

Solutions?

Most likely install Windows again, not only will this greatly improve chances of compatability, but also performance due to not conflicting with legacy drivers.

Hope this helps.

What did you find was the issue with 'lack' of vram? I'm running 3 x 1080p on 470 sli, seems to work well enough.

I can't have all the goodies on with some games, but I've no idea if that's due to vram or just not enough grunt generally.

have you tried a re-install yet?

also, now that the beta is over, you want to play bf3?!?! even though you said you couldn't be bothered when I asked if you played it yet?!?!
