Survive The Forest

very enjoyable. Opened up some suitcases and picked up a tennis ball. Dropped the ball and it kept bouncing...

Should the fuselage make noise for 3 days?

very atmospheric at 1440p

I couldn't get out of the cave took 10 hits per thing to kill them. Too many in my opinion

I've been waiting months for this game and I'm a bit disappointed to be honest.

Pros:
- Graphics are good
- Animations are good
- Crafting system is nice, but a bit lacking at the moment.
- Mutants look cool and are dangerous in groups.
- Melee combat is fun, really feel like you are hitting them.

Cons:
- You can't save the game - I assume this will be fixed asap.
- Cliffs are the biggest killer. Try and walk down some hills (that you could easily do irl) and you'll fall and die.
- No keybinds or quick slots to quickly switch between items.
- Mutants are to be feared, but only because they take about 20 hits with an axe to knock them down then another 5 hits when they are on the floor to kill.
- A lot of buggy areas. Clipping through floors, fish floating in the middle of the land. Big holes in the world.
- Water is bugged, you walk along the floor of lakes. You can also see straight through water, as if it's not there.
- No collision with lots of stuff. Your axe goes straight through a lot of objects.
- The only cave entrance I can find is the one you end up in (not spoiling anything).
- I ended up clipping through cave walls several times, then as I got deeper I went under water, despite it being in the middle of a cave and couldn't go any further.
- The world is not big enough. A lot of empty space. Played for about 2 hours and I know the map fairly well. I kept stumbling across things I'd seen before, quickly ran out of new things.

I know it's only early access, but I was hoping to be able to sit down and play all evening/night, but that's just not the case at the moment.

It has potential, but needs another few months of development.

But they don't really do it justice, graphics in game look much better than those screenshots :)

Anyone else noticed that spawn location is different each time?

Yeah, on my current playthrough (alt+tabbed at the moment) the plane crash is right near the beach. Incidentally I'm currently wimping out on a small yacht waiting for night to pass with a whole army of those tribe people standing around on the beach :(

Edit - Holy crap, help! There's loads of them surrounding the yacht now D: but at least the night time looks great :)

damn it, survived 3 days and got myself killed in such a noob way, was chopping down some trees, looked away as one of them I thought was falling away, all of a sudden it squished me gggrrrrrr blood yawesome fun though, so much potential. Got cooking up some rabbit, put on lizard skin for armour, had some camp fires and hunting shelters up with some traps, was just doing my log cabin and the death (

Im going back in again lol

can ayone explain the health, drink indicator to me a bit. I've worked out the blue is drink, the yellow segments on the left is armour, obviously the temp is self explanatty, and I think im certain thats a stomach in the middle. But, there are two blue bars on the right, one is drink level whats the other?

Right (blue) = energy

I don't think you have to drink, it's just for energy/stamina.

Left = health

Middle = hunger

Yeah the blue bar is for energy I think.

Damn those tribe people are quick, and they can spot you from pretty far away - I've learned quickly that you just don't fight them, beat feet and get to the beach if you can; they don't like going in the water.

Are you sure about that? ;)
