Suzi perry to replace Jake on BBC F1

Interesting choice! She’s a complete petrol head which is a plus point, but she has a tough act to follow replacing Jake Humphrey. I agree you have to feel a bit for Lee, but she's fantastic at her job in the pit lane and paddock.

Really disappointed that Monaco isn't live on the Beeb though, it's one of the highlights of the season :(
 
Only 4 of those 10 races (excluding round 10 TBA) are at regular viewing times. Not a very good selection at all! I didn't think JH was anything extraordinary anyway so BBC coverage last year was missed on the whole for me.
 
Mmmm. Not sure to be honest, but I'll save the eye rolling till we see her in action. Bit gutted for Lee, she didn't annoy me while on screen, which is usually a good sign.

At least the Beeb keeps the good races, apart from Monaco, which will be a tough one to deal with. :( Would have happily swapped both China and Spain for that one.
 
Put me down for the 'don't mind Suzi' crowd. Shes OK, I never really got what was supposedly so good about Jake, all just seemed to be clowning around with EJ and the lads al'la Top Gear rip off.
 
This is one of those rare occasions that I don't mind being in my 40's as I'd happily take Suzi or her younger more boobilicious fellow presenter on The Gadget Show round the block for a test drive, or 3, and as has already been mentioned she at least already has some experience via the bikes to bring to the table.
I didn't dislike Jake but I did feel he pushed it a bit far with with Eddie more than a few times and was lucky not be called a #### on live tv if not for the older chaps restraint. I'd guess Suzi might not go there so that's a good thing in my books. Plus as a bonus I don't care about the Premiership so I won't have to watch Jake getting, eventually, smacked in the chops from one of the more capable players he, eventually, insults till it reaches youtube.

Certainly didn't see it coming either, as I thought Lee had a pretty good rapport with Eddie and DC, plus she seems to manage similar with the Drivers. For example I recall that Vettel is often joking with her and was once going on about how he wanted her to wear her red dress again that she wore to some function.

I think Lee must be a bit gutted, as while its just my own assumption, being replaced by another woman in a heavily male dominated sport is probably driving the knife home more so than if the replacement was another man.
