Ideally I need someone from OCUK to come am have a look and I can pay them (not in kind) it wouldnt be a lot lol. Just to cover fuel and a drink :D

And then I would pay them more later on down the line (sept)

I'm in bedfordshire ;) HELP ME OCUK :p

dude, in all fairness! save your money, you can easily do this yourself, and it will help ya further down the line ;)

do what i suggested in the post above with sourcing a motherboard, it's got to be the board, a computer would still boot with no SSD or graphics ;)

+1 deffo do this.

Ah scrap my above comments I did not realize you had tried jumping the power jumpers pins to rule out dodgey power button on the case already.

The only thing not connected is the front panel connections.

Could buy a cheap used P5Q Pro motherboard and keep that dead one for spares?

It's annoying but still cheaper than a complete rebuild :)

I haven't will try it now.

The only thing I did notice is the mobo kinda looks not square. Almost bent around the CPU fitting. It looks saggy? Coz of the weight?

where the white block of pins are for the front panel somewhere in that lot should be two pins labelled Spk or similar, have you got your manual to hand? that will tell you for sure

has to be the board, the board controls the cpu fan, nothing else, if you've done the PSU trick to check that works, it can't be anything else.

choice now is, new board, or just upgrade? socket 775 is pretty old tech now

Oh poo poo pants lol, yeah i know its old tech, but skintoalaskint lol

Will just put it all to one side and forget about it for now :(

Thanks for all the help. Will keep an eye on the thread incase any more input or help

:)

Just so you know, that connector on the pci backplate is a COM port, not onboard GPU.

think you've already tried this, but from looking at the pic you provided:
1. unplug the COM port pci backplate
2. unplug your hardrive
3. plug your graphics card back in with both power leads it needs
4. reset bios
5. use a screwdriver to short the power pins on your motherboard to turn it on

if it doesnt work a cheap 2nd hand 775 board and the kindly offered Q9450 is your best bet. should be about £20/£25

Well I'm sorry to say it mate but I think your computer is dead, from reading this thread I think it is safe to say that it is your mobo that is dead however do you have a spare? Try plugging all your components into a spare mobo to try and trouble-shoot all the components. I doubt your components are faulty but just to save yourself possibly buying a a whole new mobo when that isn't the problem ;) It's always a sad moment when you hear of a pc death and I think it's safe to say that a lot of people on these forums know what it's like :(
