Poll: Syrian Chemical Weapon Attack

Would you support a military strike on Syria without a UN Security Council resolution?

If Japan is having a civil war, and up to that point there has been consistent shelling and troops against its own people for years and then a chemical weapon went off and lots of civilian dies, then yes, the signs would point to the government in charge.

I mean people might as well say it was the US who fired the chemical weapon in
Syria to create and excuse to invade.

Uhh have you not read the news, there are "accusations" of a merc group planting the device, at the behest of the US government.

Of course such things are unsubstantiated...kinda like any evidence thus far.

This isn't about Assad being a trust worthy source but more the case of our governments being proven time and time again to be untrustworthy especially when it comes to middle eastern conflicts, war and oil.

Assad shouldn't get away with it because of what different governments did or didn't do 10 years ago - it's not even a labour or republican govt now.

I now remember why I no longer argue on GD anymore. It is just too infuriating repeating the same point over and over and over to someone who just doesn't get the message.

You'r comprehension of world affairs really is simplistic and drone like. I bet you'r the sort of person who reads election manifestos to see what pledges the lying ***** are making so you can make a more informed decision on who to vote for.

Listen i'm not suggesting Assad should 'get away with it'. I'm just saying we shouldn't go firing missiles until all the facts are fully known. Given that many of figures who are pushing for this war are the same figures who were pushing for war with Iraq, given that all over there net there's a lot of doubt as to who really triggered the chemical weapon, given that once the wars started it can't just be stopped as and when we see fit, we shouldn't rush in because a few politicians want us to.

That's fine so stay out of it just don't derail the thread with pointless diversions.

Just seen photos of kids with napalm burns - do the rebels have access to jets to drop these weapons?

LOL. I'm not arguing just trying to make people sat safely behind there keyboard calling for war elsewhere see some sense.

You didn't need facts to 'assume' Assad wouldn't be stupid enough to do it and therefore that the rebels did do it.

As I said before you can't have it both ways.

You're an expert on napalm burns I take it? Or is that just what the news said they were. Did they say they specifically state that they WERE napalm burns? I'd be interested to see the evidence.

Whether you think my diversions are pointless or not, it's a fair comment. I'll let you get back to your endless ignoring of points :p

Too many conspiracy theorist who will change their argument to suit.

If one piece of evidence is presented to rule out their first argument they will think up and second one.

If a second piece of evidence is presented to rule out the second argument they will think up and third one.

If a third piece of evidence is presented to rule out the third argument they will think up a fourth one.

They think up arguments why it's not rather than look to what the evidence points to. I mean, there is always a chance it is aliens from the future who planted it all, you can't rule that out, right?

good old GD, I do find it reassuring that aside from a very vocal minority, most people seem to have sense, even on here

No he isn't - he pretty much has to take action after he very publicly made the use of CW a red line, never imagining for a second that the Syrian regime would be daft enough to use CW. Well they were and now he risks looking weak and emasculated on the international stage - he'll do a few token airstrikes against pointless targets like Presidential Palaces, the equivalent of a public school spanking to Assad and then leave the Syrians to keep on killing each other.

1st Anyone can fight but it takes a man to know when his wrong and apologize.

2nd I'll ask the same as Putin did "show the evidence"

The US\UK\France have cried wolf to many times now and the people have caught on.

It's looking like it's just the French then, what will happen to the channel tunnel once they surrender to Syria?
