While Russia is messing about with these non-stories and backing their brutal dictator buddy, the number of refugees from Syria is estimated to be 2m. Instead of being obsessed with looking like an international strong man, maybe Mr Putin would care to comment on the plight of these people. Thought not.

How would allowing the terrorists to take over their country help ?

it doesn't.

That's what i thought.

So basically it's just Russia announcing to the world that they're keeping their eye on the Med / doing their usual drama queens. I seriously doubt that any first strikes against Syria will be ballistic missiles.

Rather than complaining about Putin why not complain about our government. Not only have our (and the US) government been scuppering peace talks for months by not allowing one of Syria's main allies to the table (Iran) they now seem to be utterly anti discussion at the G20 talks. The cabinet seem to have a distinct "throwing their toys out of the pram" attitude at the moment. You can't criticise Russia without criticising the UK and US for almost identlical reasons.

I really wish people would either put up, or shut up

Remember North Korea....all talk

What are the Russians gonna do? Launch Nukes? No, they aren't going to do anything!

They could start firing missiles at rebel positions to even out the attacks. On the other hand the likelihood of that happening is slim as one; the rebels don't have distinct bases so far more likelihood of civillian casualties, and two; there could end up being crossed wires and a US or russian missile or plane may get accidntly shot down by the other side causing big political ramifications.

Any peace talks are none of Iran's business, they should be between the Syrian regime, the "rebels" and an independent intermediary - it's got nothing to do with the Ayatollahs.

The US/UK haven't given their unconditional support to the butcher Al-Assad, so I can criticise Russia without criticising them.

I would agree with that, other than the fact most of western europe (or at least the UK and France at a minimum), the US and Israel would also be around the table.

The problem was the UK, France, Israel and the US would be there, a number or rebel factions and the Syrian government, alongside Russia, however the US would not allow Iran round the table as well.

As we're not independent intermediaries doesn't Syria have the right to have at least two nations backing it at the table, considering the rebels would have at least 3...

It was just petty politics by the US wanting to keep Iran isolated, to help with a Syrian peace process.

Oh dear people still aren't willing to see who is behind all these wars and all the wars in recent history.

I'm surprised by Miliband maybe he knows what these wars are about and wants no part in it.

So basically it's just Russia ...lots of whinging

.....................refugees from Syria is estimated to be 2m................................................ Mr Putin would care to comment on the plight of these people. Thought not.

By agreeing with me? Good questioning technique.

lol...you whinge about Russia supporting Syria and if Putin would like too comment on the plight of the estimated 2million refugees as if he were somehow responsible/connected.

When asked if allowing the terrorists to take over Syria would help the refugees(Russia withdrawing their support)...you said it doesn't.

Don't you still get it ? ? ?

Milliband is a Jew so I am very happy to see his reaction to the proposed war, politics or not. Im sure he was under a lot of pressure. There seems to be a large grain of truth in that vid, especially when you consider the AIPAC and the mutually beneficial relationship with the US. The US gets wealth and power, Israel crushes it's enemies.

New York Times deletes the following from there website article:

Administration officials said the influential pro-Israel lobby group Aipac was already at work pressing for military action against the government of Mr. Assad, fearing that if Syria escapes American retribution for its use of chemical weapons, Iran might be emboldened in the future to attack Israel. In the House, the majority leader, Eric Cantor of Virginia, the only Jewish Republican in Congress, has long worked to challenge Democrats’ traditional base among Jews.

One administration official, who, like others, declined to be identified discussing White House strategy, called Aipac “the 800-pound gorilla in the room,” and said its allies in Congress had to be saying, “If the White House is not capable of enforcing this red line” against the catastrophic use of chemical weapons, “we’re in trouble.”

So it all falls back to Israel. There is a ******* surprise.
