system spec/build ?

You will of course provide pics and a build log?:)

of course, will do.

The OcUK GeForce GTX 580 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card was not in stock and none due to come in stock either so i went back to the Asus.

I stuck with Nvidia as the drivers work well under Linux.

So will be building it all by 10am tomorrow ;-)

Cheers

I am still waiting for my stuff to come as they changed the delivery so wont be here until tomorrow now, no big deal.

However in the meantime i have been doing more research and read a few things about the stock fans in the Cooler Master CM-690 II Advanced USB3.0 Windowed Gaming Tower Case are a little noisy and people seem to be replacing them ?

is this correct ?

I am a big fan of peace and quiet especially as the machine will be on 24/7

are the stock fans no good ?

What are the better one to replace with if at all ?

I have looked at the thermalrite x-silent 140, the bequiet, and the antec truequiet ?

any opinions or recommendations on this ?

I know i should probably wait to see what the noise is like, but i dont mind spending on the fans now to get them here tomorrow if it is something i should consider ?

Cheers

The front one is harder as its a LED fan and its wired to a switch at the top of the case to turn the illumination ON/OFF.

The rear fans etc will be simply four screws and a straight replacement.

yeah it was the 140mm top fan being replaced with 2 x 140mm fans for top exhaust.

It wasnt really a major point, just a couple of mentions here and there in various posts on different forums, no one made a big deal of it, just a few mentioning the noise.

Yeah i will wait and see

cheers

so ive been looking at front panel control devices, as my buddy as a nice digital device for controlling his fans, not sure what it is as i cant get in touch with him.

Anyways i was after a internal card reader so was looking at the icybox ib-863 front 5.25@ panel.

However i saw the akasa all in one AK-ALL-02BK device which does the same as above but with fan control also and is a nice looking device.

Any opinons or recommends on this subject or these 2 devices ?

The reviews on the akasa seem to be mixed ?

Cheers

So i received the case today, decided to get some of it ready for the build tomorrow.

It comes with standoffs x 10 and standoffs-hole-fix x2 which have a protuding end

I know what the standoffs are for and i have put them into the 9 allocated ATX holes ready.

Do i need to use the standoffs-hole-fix with the protuding end anywhere ?

Cheers

These are the ones that look like they havent been finished properly and have a lip on them?

When I used this case in someones build I stuck them in the middle holes, so the "lip" went into the holes on the motherboard to help locate it.

ahh gotcha, yeah i guessed they may be for location to make screwing in easier, but hadnt seen the mobo yet so didnt know if they went into where i have put the existing standoffs or if there was additional holes for these.

I am so impatient, i wont sleep tonight cos i know everything is arriving tomorrow, i am like a kid when i know im getting new stuff...LOL

Cheers for your quick replies, i am sure i have plenty to come ;-)

i just realised that my coolermaster case is supposed to have a VGA holder ?

Is that needed to install to my grfx card tomorrow or is it a missing item i can do without ?

Cheers

You can do with out it (easily detaches) it helps support long cards/heavy cards and multiple cards.
