T-mobile Pulse - Android touch phone.

I'm still not sure whether to get one of these

Will they get 2.0 ROM's for this phone? have been reading stuff on forums etc and am not sure whether to go for the HTC Magic instead

So theres no downside or con to the tmobile pay as you go sims with the £10 unlimited texts and net ?

Not hit like a usage limit or anything ?

If its all hunky dorey i'll be ordering one of these phones tomorrow.

edit - Also anyone give me a quick run down of how the hell quidco works :P never used it before and seems to get me £5 off this phone.

Thought I'd show a few pics of my rooted pulse, running pandahome.

Love this phone, endless messing about :)

How do you get it have contacts on one of your home pages?

I think Tmobile state that there is a "fair usage" limit of aorund 40MB per day ... however, there's no extra charge - just if you exceed this limit (possibly on a regular basis rather than an occasional day) then they may send you warnings that your use may be excessive (or I think in their terms advise you that you are probably using the wrong device for that amount of usage) and then if "unfair use" continues they may put some limits on your access.

Also, using phone as modem for a laptop etc is against usage rules (and I think they say that they reserve right to charge for data usage if they find out you are doing that)

Just go to quidco and sign up then go to Tmobile site via their site. Basically lots of websites offer commission to other sites who direct people to them - quidco does this but passes on the commission to you ... only caveat is that they take the first £5/year to fund their operation etc so you wont see the £5 from Tmobile but then you'll get anything else for the rest of the year.

I signed up with them when I got my Pulse ... however, I had a double win as got it on the Tmobile 33% off day + quidco rate was £15 then! (It also happened to be my birthday as well!)

I was liking my phone til it stopped working this morning. It's stuck on an eternal android screen loop:( I'm hoping the guys on modaco can help!

Ah thanks well ive just recieved my phone this morning and bloody love it! but my god i want it set up like wiija's as that looks superb, also it seems he has toggle buttons for wifi etc which i could do with.

Bit of a downside that i have to wait till next month to get my free texts and net -.-

Can you get it to boot off recovery image?
Can't really do anything with it I don't think.I can get onto the blue screen by pressing vol-,red key and turning it on but that's it.I've ordered a memory card writer and i'm gonna put the december update on that and see if updating it will help.

I think I had the same problem when I was trying to update and unlock my phone. There is a post over at Modaco which sorted me, but can't find it at the moment. I believe I had to copy over an update onto the memory card to fix it.

I'm going for that update option as well.Just got to wait for a memory card reader for my pc to arrive.

If its just a matter of copying a file(s) onto the uSD so you can get the Pulse to run an update (as is case for the Tmob Dec update) then you can copy the files by conneting the phone with the USB cable and mounting the card on the PC ... that's what I did. (To mount USB connect with cable then pull down the USB notifier on the top bar on the pulse and select the mount option then this switches the card from being on the phone to being mounted as a removable drive on the PC - reverse procedure when you've completed transfers)

hmm looks like t-mobile have removed the pulse and are not selling any?

just been reading on forums that t-mobile have discontinued the phone already
also been reading that they are getting the LG InTouch Max (GW620) and the Samsung Galaxy Portal (i5700) this month  :D

Its a real shame as we certainly won't see any rom updates from t-mob now.

Can't say its a surprise however, compared with other android phones of similar spec they were as good as giving them away when the offer was on and with most people seemingly unlocking and going onto other networks, they must have taken quite a hit.
