Tabletop Warhammer?

Time for some WIP shots of Asurmen. Base layers mostly. Probably a few more layers on the white sections. Tabard and Sword hilt will be wraithbone. Going to paint the blade with a sort of obsidian effect. You can see where I've tried wet blending on the helm...still some work to be done there! Cloak needs blending up to bright red on the folds. Not sure what colour to do the plume on the helmet yet.

It's a Wraithbone base with the Dire Avengers symbol carved in it. Also very handy to hold him with :D

Still finishing up my Incubi bases hopefully have a proper photo of them soon!

Bah I'll link up update pics then, CBA to resize them:

All the red parts need brightening as the wash really.... well, washed them out. Lots of edge highlighting done, base has been updated a little but needs sand adding I think (looks too flat), glow added around the lights (needs updating again).

Ta, not sure if I've ruined it or improved it from the last step, but all in the fun of learning.

How did you get on with wet blending? I'm wanting to try some gradients on my next model, but would probably do it dry brushing.

Well you can see the current results in the pics above (the helm) not a bad start, I want to have it going from dark at the top to bright blue near the faceplate, then I may do a night sky type thing with stars on top.

Wet blending is definitely more effective than layering but seems much harder to get to grips with.

Thanks bro, still got loads to do. Waiting on some paint and brushes from GW to arrive to spruce it up a bit. Going to have black and white stripes across the missile launcher (where it's currently silver), brighten the lights and I'm considering adding some battle damage, just don't know if I'm good enough for that sort of detail.

on the note of brushes several people have mentioned it but GW brushes are pants, I got a few from Rosemary and Co a few weeks and they are much nicer and cheaper!

these are the series I got,

You can go more expensive but these are working superbly for me.

Oh awesome, cheers mate will order some. What's good to get, and what's good for dry brushing?

I ****ing love dry brushing!
