We need more plastic kits on-par with the level of detail found in this Dark Vengeance set, though obviously with the same kind of layouts as the current core kits. I'm really impressed, especially with the detail on the Chosen.

Edit: Priming with the 0.2mm airbrush is definitely not a great idea. I do love the control it gives for details, though.

Well, I finally got round to doing a quick test of the colour scheme that I plan on using for the Chaos Marines in the DV set.

Sadly, only managed to get the basecoat done and go over some areas with black. Not sure if I like this, so I might try doing one in Hexed Lichen tomorrow and see how a darker purple goes on.

Yeah, that's what I was aiming for. I've only got a few old models left to play with, though, so I'll have to make a choice soon. I did do one test run with Vallejo Dark Green for the Dark Angels and I like the shade but the finish is somewhat dry and rough, so I'm guessing I didn't spray enough on or did something weird when it came to thinning the paint. :/

The new Tau stuff is up on GW's site, including new farsight, new riptide suit (looks huge), a bomber, and reworked Broadside suit (it looks like one option for that has a load of missiles, and a seeker missile).

I'm just very very glad they didn't change the old crisis suit models much (I have about 15 of them, although only ever used 6 or 7)...

And I'm hoping they make the new shield drones available separately at a reasonable price, as they look to be better than the metal/plastic ones...

I hate those damn seeker missiles. Last night I was playing against tau with my space wolves army and it was the missiles which took out most of my units (I still won though

Seeker missiles are fun!

Two per vehicle, and you can easily get 8 or 10 in an army just on your piranha's and devil fish (probably changed in the new rules).

I would love to be as good as you at painting

I sort of had an accident earlier on Wayland games...
The sort that sees my wallet getting mugged and put on rations for a while

Although in my defence, some of that mugging was on behalf of a friend and a family member.

Only about a third of it is mine though

the riptides look fantastic. They are huge.
I just hope for my sake they are not overpowered

I've managed to get ten Cultists built and based today, only another ten to go before I move on to something else. Thinking I may do the Deathwing squad next.

Trying to finish one of my chosen marines tonight, god I hate painting them so much fiddly little bits!

I think I may have an 'ally' to make up another 500 points in my army, sod painting more chaos marines.
