Tabletop Warhammer?

Indeed. The Tau are definitely a strong-looking army this edition. :)

Have you seen the alternate-scheme for the Fire Dragon in the gallery of the Codex? Really tempted to go with that for mine, rather than the traditional colours. Sadly, not really much closer to putting a core list together... :(

It's still a relatively cheap expenditure of resources to do some serious damage, especially when you consider most of the armies that really need cover will be wounded on 2+ with no saves from basic Pulse Rifles. :p

I want to do something different for my Eldar bases. I have some resin street bases for the Dark Angels, the Chaos stuff has regular sand bases... Are the textured paints, such as the big tubs of stuff from Vallejo, any good? Alternatively, where can I get those sheets of cork that people use and what's the best way to break them up into realistic shapes? :)

^ They're a bit too dark for me.

Tiles. Excellent. Sheets was just getting me rolls of thin stuff. :o

I'd love some of these but for the amount of stuff I think I'm going to end up with, it will probably turn out really expensive! :(

Yes I've just realised that :D

Finally managed to make an 1850pt list I'm happy with, so many options to choose from though! Heavy Support is really tough, especially as a lot of them work best in pairs.

Kickstarter...

I wonder where they got their inspiration for this character:

Im currently trying to just ignore the raging heroes stuff as its all rather tempting and I know it wouldnt take much to do some pledging. Might still grab a couple models.

Does anyone have any experience painting quarterd power armour. Im tempted by the Sons of Guilliman (Lexicanum page). However when it comes to putting a wash on what do you use for white? I may paint a test one start of next week while im off work.

I would prime white, wash the entire model in black wash (Soft body black by secret miniatures is great for this, not as harsh as Badab black) then work the white and blue up from there.

Ah right excellent cheers. I have citadel white and army painter white. Ive had problems with both in the past but i will see what I can get out of them this time. What about highlighting white?

P3 Morrow White is the best I've used, though white paint in general is a pain. You want to get an off-white colour as the base and then use pure white as the highlight, if possible.

Highlighting white is tricky. The idea is you get the model to a very, very light grey and then do pure white on top. So for my Incubi (picture below) after the wash stage I repainted most of the area with a white + celestra grey mix (could replace this with any number of greys) then did thin layers of progressively more white and then pure white for the final highlight.

You can also do a blue shadow for white like I'm doing with Asurman

This is probably the best idea, could take a fair few white layers otherwise.
