Yea as much as Id like to, I love some of the models too much. Im not into all these boxsets they keep releasing though. And Warhammer+ doesnt interest me apart from Astartes.
My nephew who is 7 played Warhammer 2 total war round my house and he showed a lot of interest so I bought him the latest white dwarf magazine. We're looking at age of sigmar, what's the cheapest and easiest way to getting his first couple models and paints, is there a starter kit?

That's still a bit pricey, I saw that I could get two models and some paint from GW website for £10.
The only thing you'll get for a tenner on the GW website is a magazine with a couple of models, it won't include paints or brushes.

Decided after many years of not playing and no motivation to paint what I have left it’s time to sell up. eBay still best place to sell? Unfortunately I have unpopular armies in Sylvaneth and Tau so hoping I can get at least something for them.
You could try FBM too?
Is that UKwide or local only as the only thing I’ve ever used it for was a crappy slide for the kids for a few weeks and it was just around the corner.

It's not easy but that's part of the fun, getting better, learning new skills, seeing the improvement from your first models that look like you painted them with a masonry brush.
There's a wealth of great tutorial videos/channels on YouTube these days too, from total beginner level through to more involved ideas and techniques.
It's relatively easy to make half decent looking models with quick and easy techniques like dry brushing and wash shading and then progress from there as you get a feel for things.
For a taster, kits like these can be good (generally available 15% cheaper from independent stores)

I'm tempted by this I like the krieg aesthetic but as I've never done anything like this how much is the rest of the stuff you need
Like how many different paints would I need (maybe even if say I left the oaks unpainted) glue brushes etc etc

Yes I've watched a few videos the contrast paints seemed to do great on a pox walker and I saw some pannel lining paint that added loads of great detail to the contours without meticulous hand added detail I wouldn't be able to do

If I can give any advice at all its don't buy Citadel paints, (or brushes for that matter) I wish I had listened to people, while the paint itself is good, the pots are a nightmare after a while will gunk up which then starts your paint drying out.

Aye GW pots are pretty junky and have been for ~20 years 
The original rubber topped ones were great* and I know people who still have usable paint in them (or did about 3 years ago when one of my friends was looking for an original purple to match his 90's eldar colour scheme), the next version of pot IIRC had a screw cap that never sealed as the thread was course, then they did a rubber top which toppled over and didn't seal very well, and the current ones whilst an improvement still gunk up and do not seal properly a fair bit of the time and some of the paints have a really nasty tendency to separate almost beyond the ability to recover after 12-18 months even if sealed.
This isn't a problem if you're doing a lot of models using a few colours in the space of months as you'll likely use most of the pots doing them, it's if you're either a slow painter or doing lots of colours so pots sit unused for months at a go.
I actually bought a proper lab vortex mixer** because I worked out it only had to save me buying around 30 GW paints to pay for itself and it seems to work really well at recovering some of the ones I'd almost given up on because of separation (throw a steel ball bearing or two in and agitate!), it also makes the process of "shaking" airbrush paints a cinch as i just put them on it for a ~15 seconds before use and has let me recover some of my original vallejo paints from nearly 10 years ago! (a minute or two on it gets most of them really well mixed unless they've turned completely to sludge)
The place where I think GW does hold an edge still with paints is the range of colours that are specifically designed to compliment each other including things like the washes and shades without having to go between different manufacturers ranges (although valljo probably have many more colours as they do model air, game air, model colour, game colour etc some of which are available in 30-200ml pots).
*IIRC P3 use them now and do some very close matches to the original GW paints.
