Do older minis need updating in any way to be table legal? Aside from being painted

Unpainted army = win?

This would be my understanding too.Not really, depending on the tournament they will either allow them on their original base size if it’s changed since your models were bought, or insist they’re on the current base size for the unit.
If there was a really drastic size change between old and new models (like Ghazkull is a prime example) you’d probably be asked to use the current model unless you put it on the world’s biggest tactical rock to make it the right size silhouette in the interests of fairness.
Outside of a tournament environment it’s between you and your opponent but outside of the edge cases like Ghaz there’s often not a really big size difference so stick them on the right size base and you’re good to go.
Seems like good value!Hey guys have any of you seen the two John Blanche paint sets that Army Painter are releasing ?

I know what you mean my friend, they are available to pre-order on Amazon for £35 without the paintbrush.Does a bear **** in the woods? I'm a sucker for hype and product placement!!
Just ordered a selection of Gamer Grass, AK Wargame Terrain and liquid pigments.
The other half will be soon packing my bags!!

I was looking at AK acrylic inks and Villainy Inks yesterday too, only thing that puts me off the oil based inks is messing around with white spirits.
Doesn’t Villany have a slight flaw. Can’t quite remember what it was on one of the reviews.
Think they had oversized pigments and the bottles weren't great.Overpriced ?
Very nice indeed.
