They are so 1 dimentional right now its just dull.

Dont think ive lost a competitive game against knights in the last 6 months, the strategy is always exactly the same.

IMHO they need to make it so for every X points of knights you have to have Y points of supporting corps, something to mix it up from the same 3 lists over and over.

Yeah like I think it can be fun (bear in mind I don’t meta) taking one as an allied unit in a chaos list instead of a couple of Wardogs but yeah 1 dimensional is a great description.
5+ invuln against ranged only (mainly) isn’t great, and I’d hate to have played if my friend had more AT.

I’ve played against a meta list of them in a friendly tournament and it was disgusting, detachment that uses the malefic surges. And he has this Despoiler or Desecrator with twin Gatling guns, he’d use his surge for lethal hits and then have 36 shots with a -2AP 2dmg weapon. And they could move an extra 3” on top of advance right at the start with the movement one. It’s why I didn’t use that detach, I chose a gimped one (lords of dread) that is tailored for taking more big models, but I only have 3 so also had 5 Wardogs.

That said, he really wanted to table me but my Lysander survived so it felt like a win lol.

I ran a 2x ctan list last weekend, used rapid ingress to get them guaranteed charges, the guy just had to sit there as i rolled 2's into 3's into whatever damage and he gets no save at all. Boom knight dead, next.

Yep, I was using assault terminators but only had one block and he had a couple of melee knights. I’d love to use EC against them!

Best one I had on Sat was the Cerastus because he gets free tank shock, had an enhancement for reroll charges, and the only model I had with a 4+ invuln against everything. He was also focus fired down by round 2 but there you go. Another disadvantage being you still get shot while in melee.

This is why I like playing against my friend because neither of us are meta players but we recognise a few good combos which we will implement but won’t research some competition list.

No idea what I’m doing in 11th, want to go back to my chaos stuff but also getting put off by generalist stuff like them and SM. I think EC will be fun as they are fast and finally have a decent AT option with the Defiler, they’re also all assembled (minus Fulgrim) but usually I find I’m missing some core units and I don’t really want to buy more stuff until I fix the horrendous amount of partially finished things.

Edit. Don’t realise murderwing was out so placed a preorder for that. Hate the gimpy possessed looking one, probably going to need another box. Might make the lord into a regular guy as I’m going to end up with two of them anyway.
