Tabletop Warhammer?

Sisters of battle are a bit fiddly to put together!!

Think I’m going to paint them as Order of the Bloody Rose. That way I can still get a box or two of Black templars and not be ****** off painting black!!
Got to build my Kiil Team Sisters they are still in the box, those Death Corps were a real fiddle to assemble too !

Went to a Seed talk tonight in Bristol on the history of Games Workshop by James Wallis.

Since they were first created forty years ago, the Warhammer games have gone from a cult hobby to a global cultural force, with their immersive fantasy universes, stunning artwork, beautifully sculpted miniatures, and engrossing gameplay. But what is the secret formula that turned these games into an international phenomenon with millions of players? Where did Warhammer come from, and what made it so successful? Join us to discover the intricacies of Warhammer’s journey to becoming the cultural phenomenon it is today.

In this talk, James Wallis will expertly guide us through the cultural influences that give the Warhammer worlds their unique tone, from heavy metal and Victorian science-fiction writers to the political landscape of the 1980s, and how a scrappy band of Nottingham-based game designers and toy-soldier makers turned their obsession into one of the UK's most successful companies. Whether you’re new to Warhammer or a lifelong fan, this talk will shine a new light on the game, illuminating the lesser-known facts and context about its creation. Followed by Q&A.

I have to say James was excellent, and his enthusiasm for the hobby really shone through.

The event was packed and it was great to be surrounded by so many like minded people.

I'd recommend it if anyone gets a chance, it was like a live action documentary about where Games Workshop came from and how it has gradually morphed over time to work towards total worldwide domination! :D :D

Yeah it was a really great evening, thoroughly enjoyed geeking out :D.

I can't see any future talks scheduled, but he did another one recently in London and said he is hoping to do some more.

I can only suggest keeping an eye on the Seed talks website and looking for future events.

If anything comes up on any of my various feeds I'll post back here in the future.

Many thanks.

That looks a good mixer and if you could clamp it to the desk, perfect. I have the normal vortex mixer and it's great for mixing but it's not always the best shape for the bottles.
It works really well on a worktop surface, the suckers underneath are actually quite strong when you come to remove the unit.
Failing that either a six inch square ceramic tile or piece of glass would work just as well.
I am very impressed with the mixer especially on the small Citadel paint pots which I have been putting them on their sides across the holding clamp, with an agitator ball bearing in the pot.

Looks like my order from the Travelingman has come good posted my Krieg army box :D

Been given tomorrow off work with full pay due to the red weather warning so have the below to test out :D

Paid a bit of attention to all the Space Marines I have. I actually nailed the yellow this time so guess I'm sticking with this. I'm going to attempt heavy weathering too with my oils.
Such nice gradients all around, probs not showing well on photo.
Very simple:
Molotow Fuschia Pink
Molotow Signal white
Imperial fist contrast
The Inks: Primary yellow.
