Take Away curries, why do we never learn?

Love a good curry - but yes, mixing copious amount of alcohol with said meal, doesn’t usually end well. Especially if it’s spicy.

I had a chicken tikka vindaloo once at the end of a night out - seriously regretted it the next day.
If I’ve had quite a bit to drink I tend to go for a grilled dish like Tikka or shashlik with salad and naan. Stomach tolerates it much better.

These days my go to take away is a large chicken tikka kebab on naan w/ salad and chili-garlic sauce. When I used to drink though, and boy did I used to drink, my stomach was basically an industrial waste disposal system. No matter what I ate I never got ill. :D

I tend to go for the less spicier dishes now like a rogan. It’s just not worth the tears on the crapper the next day
I’ve never really suffered like that with curry. I find pizza with jalapeño worse, and the worst of all is those inferno KFC bites. They are chest, stomach and arse shredders.

Aye. Honestly, now I’m older. I tend to avoid most spicy stuff. Even sriracha sauce isn’t good for me anymore. :p I’d rather properly enjoy a meal, than struggle with heat.

I still like going for a vindaloo when I’m bunged up with cold. Clears my nose and airwaves better than any medication.

That says more about you than anything if you ask me, that your mind instantly jumps to that rather than alternatives, even asking for clarification.
Lol hardly. Don’t try to put any of that nonsense back on me, I’ll quote him again just for the record.
A lot of the foreign food places are utter filth, everytime theres a local closure its called Bakara Market or some curry place.
 Sigh GD…

But it could be a fact. All the closures could be foreign owned establishments. Should we not state facts any more in case it offends someone?

I don't want to speak to soon because I old get a condition in the future but my digestive system is great. I can eat big spicy currys and drink lots of beer and mostly be fine.

It's if I start doing to many shots I have problems.

Just gonna come in here on OPs side of things, I love a good vindaloo, and I will usually have a rough morning after.

Not anything particularly bad, but like I wouldn't want to be away from an easily accessible toilet in the first half of the day.

I've been ordering from the same place for years now and never had a problem. It really depends on the place you go, and I've ordered a variety of mild and very hot dishes.

However I did have an experience many years ago where I got ill after a curry on Boxing Day from another restaurant. I think the restaurant was just clearing out some old stock since I wasn't the only one in our party that got ill.

I've had vindaloos, nagas and phals over the years, but the next morning is generally fine. I think it's because I tend to have chili every day in one form or another, so my system is just used to it.

That’s the important thing, it’s what you’re used to. Every Monday night I used to go to Edgware where myself and a friend would have a curry, we always ordered a vindaloo but taken to phal heat. It had a great flavour and that extra jag of spice.

People mention having a few beers along with it, I can honestly say there was no alcohol involved it's just how my body reacts to it!
I was sat there mulling it over but the mental imagery and sensations made me do it, I knew full well the " meat " would be sus standard but I was tasting the garlic nan and sauce just sat there thinking about it.
Indian rice just isn't as nice and fresh Chinese sit in rice is it?

I love a good Indian with a few pints of cobra or kingfisher.
other than the odd Johnny Cash the next day I have never been ill from the food.

have had food poisoning twice both from takeaways, one a kebab van and another from a local KFC copy. (the latter I found out due to them reheating left over chicken from the previous night. when I got it it wasn't piping hot either)...... moral there is never go into a cheapo chicken joint the moment they open the doors esp if the racks of food are all full.

Phal, vindaloo or jalfrezi here or local restaurant food in Pune (mutton stew) or the best - biryani from the work canteen and better tasting and hotter than i’ve had anywhere!

No dont normally pay for it. Have has severe food poisioning in dublin and from a chinese takeaway local to me at the time. Was on the loo and throwing up in the sink for 72 hours.. the worst case was having no movement and then almost rupturing my colon.. took 5 days to settle enough to start eating potatoes to settle and i still cant do dairy after that..

Bloody Nora hopefully they got shut down.

Don't remember my last bad takeaway. I often get the 69p ones from Aldi or other ones from LONDIS. Nice bit of naan on the side and sorted.

Both Korma's, those are my fave.
