Talkmobile

Just confirmed that Talkmobile will be capping the unlimited contracts. What a massive bucket of fail!

I foresee many people getting our their contracts now just as people did with Orange a few years back.

Didn't everyone buy them at 1GB anyway?

Wtf?

Talk Mobile only yesterday confirmed to me that for the length of my contract it will be unlimited "all you can eat".

I've just emailed Talk Mobile again, they're telling me something different every time, I would love it if I had a valid reason to get out of the contract, so I could go on an uber cheap one with my Sensation.

Didn't everyone buy them at 1GB anyway?

I did, but that's not the point, they're saying something different every time.

1GB is not plenty, I can live with it, but if I'm told I have unlimited then I can use services I would otherwise not have being able to use due to 1gb not being enough, I probably only use about 500mb a month, but I could easily use over 1gb if I wanted to use everything I want to use.

what are you blabbing on about? you bought your contract just days before mine, so you will have been told it was 1gb!

This is mine:

400 Inclusive Calls 327 remaining
1048576 Inclusive Data 976511 remaining
1000 Inclusive Texts 940 remaining
Unbilled charges: £0.25

guessing the 0.25 is a picture message, whatsapp installed now anyway!

No, I was told it was UNLIMITED.

It even states on my bill unlimited.

I have being told by Talk Mobile, I am on unlimited, I asked them what the "fair usage policy" was, and they said, it's "all you can eat"

I don't even have a facility to check my data usage where do you check yours?

I was also told by yet another member of Talk Mobile, I can't check my data usage due to me being on Unlimited.

Do you understand?

yea, so you'll be on the unlimited plan and i'm on the 1gb plan, despite only signing up to the same contract (sgs2 instead of sensation) a week later.

sucks to be me:p

on a serious note i'll be nowhere near the 1gb limit, as my screenshot from my account shows. 90% of that data will be at home too when I just couldn't be bothered to turn wifi on:p

All Talkmobile 12 & 24 month contracts purchased between April and June 2011 on the “Never Pay for the Internet” deal will have unlimited data for the lifetime of the contract ie.12 or 24months. However you should refer to the http://www.talkmobile.co.uk/help/termsandconditions.html clause 4.4 for information on fair usage.

Any 12 or 24 month contracts purchased after this period and not on the “Never pay for the internet” will be subject to the data allowances set out for the individual tariffs. Please refer to http://www.talkmobile.co.uk/paymonthly24smart.html and http://www.talkmobile.co.uk/paymonthly12smart.html for information.

Hope this helps...

So this is for april / june:
4.4. Certain uses of the Services are prohibited and not included in your Tariff. Examples of prohibited uses include without limitation the following; illegal internet based streaming services, non Talkmobile voice or video services over the internet, peer-to-peer file sharing, redirecting television signals for viewing on mobile devices.

4.5. We reserve the right to monitor your usage, if we reasonably determine that your use is in breach of any applicable Fair Use Policy, we may do one or all of the following;

* request you to moderate your use or
* suspend your Service.

4.6 We reserve the right to implement or change any applicable Fair Use Policy to ensure that the use of Services are not excessive, to combat fraud and to ensure services can be enjoyed by all our customers.

And everyone else is on 1 Gig/month. But don't use Skype/BBC iPlayer/tvcatchup or they will hit you.

I'm under that even though I got mine in July, my first bill was 26th July.

I am on unlimited.

Does all phone Internet not allow iplayer or anything?

anyone know if a talkmobile sim works in a vodafone locked handset?

All the ones I've tried have, a friends locked N96 worked, and my current iPhone is locked to Vodafone and works fine with my cutdown Talkmobile sim (did have to change the APN doodahs for the internet to work).

I'm thinking of going for a deal through mobiles.co.uk and the provider is Talkmobile - I've done some research and understand its carried on Vodafones network which should be fine but I've read that they charge 10p for listening to a voicemail message - is this right or does it only cost if you have run out of inclusive minutes???

Thanks guys.......

*edit*

Nevermind, did some reading myself:

6.13. Calls to your voicemail and any of our customer service lines will be chargeable in accordance with the Tariff and may be deducted from any monthly allowances. When using call return (returning a call when directly within your voicemail service), you will be charged for both the voicemail call and the call return call throughout the duration of the returned call. Call return calls will be deducted from any inclusive allowance, where appropriate. The call return charge is calculated as the rate for that Tariff, as if you had hung up and dialled direct for the returned call, less the voicemail charge. The minimum call rate on call return is the same as the voicemail rate. For Post Pay Tariffs, calls to voicemail 121 are decremented from your inclusive allowance
