Talkmobile

What connection do earphones use for the HTC Sensation? Is it 3.5mm jack or do I need to buy specific ones?

Is it possible that when there is no phone signal but there is WiFi available that calls and texts can be sent/received via. The internet?

Also how can I check how much data out of my 1gb I have used?

I made this post using the HTC sensation and it's awesome :D

You can use Skype over wifi, but if you want to use it to call phones you'll have to have skype credit. Can't think of any other way off hand, except for IM programs

Ah right, might try get skype on it then.

Any ideas over mobile Internet usage?

Also is google maps when using GPS still downloaded via the internet, so I'd be using my data up? Is it possible to download it all or download OS or something?

Also with the phone I notice it's got aMicro SD card in according to settings, it has 5.4gig free and 7.45gb fully.

Maybe call the people you bought it from

To be fair fox I'm on tmobile and fairly regulary use the train east coast ,virgin and cross country there signal holds up pretty well in my experience. Just thought I'd add my browsing experiences in here :)

T mobile is now unlimited data on all £25+ 24 month contracts but rumours going about the speeds are capped at 375kbs a sec so not very fast but not confirmed. I'm on dim only with t mobile and get 3gb fup on data but speeds are capped at 1.8mbs a sec but more than enough for phone and have to say 3G signal on t mobile seems to be a lot better than when I was on o2 plus speeds are faster. O2 I very rarely got 700kbs+ on speediest but t mobile I pretty much get 1mb plus if I got 3G signal which is most of the time. I'd consider moving to talk mobile if there offered unlimited data again or unlimited data with a 3gb fup. I usually do 2gb a month plus.

Jailbroken iPhone, mxtube when I'm out and about, downloading some iTunes apps and videos off iTunes like ign, podcasts and also got skyfire browser to watch flash videos. No tethering though as don't need it. Got safari download manager so sometimes download stuff on that. In the last 9 months I've only had 1 Tex saying im nearing my fup which is 80% I think which is 2400mb. Always streaming a lot of stuff plus download quite abit off mxtube.

Say if I spent 4 hours browsing a forum how much data would that use? How much does FB and Twitter apps use? I don't have anything on auto update.

Browsing this forum? If you don't go into many threads with pictures, probably about 10-20MB at the most?

Things like the avatars are cached, it only loads pictures/signatures etc all once and they are small files, the rest is all text.

Same goes for FB and Twitter, no pictures etc = hardly any, lots of pictures = a bit more but generally very little.

Sounds ok then. I've just downloaded 3G Watchdog and in the past 8 hours I've used 544kb of my 1gb allowance, now that's not much but I've not being on the Internet and I turned syncing off so I manually do everything so what could be using the data?

Just wondering, anyone else on Talk Mobile got their first bill and noticed it says 400 mins worth of calls, 1000 texts and Unlimited data?

Also It will only be £30 a month right, that is including VAT is it???

Just to give you a ballpark on the mobile data usage.

I've used 2.8 GB last month and I have:

Streamed 1/2 episodes of The Apprentice and The Apprentice: You're Fired
Streamed at least 1 episode of Mock the Week
Streamed about an hour of F1 Practice and about 4 hours of Cricket
Uploaded photo's using Google +

Also lots of Dropbox syncing and using Twitter/Facebook/reddit if fun etc every day :)

Track your data using 3G Watchdog or My Data Manager.

Hope that helps a little :)

Just got in contact with Talk Mobile and they said currently it is unlimited but August it's changing to 1gb and I'll be able to know how much data I've used by calling 5888.

I think I may go ahead with this deal. Just not sure on which phone to go with. I currently have a HTC Desire and it's been a great phone but I have had a few niggles with it.

Firstly it had to go back to HTC for restarting issues. Secondly it displays full signal most of the time but as soon as I go to call anyone it drops. Same goes for internet, displays good 3G signal but does nothing.

I do like HTC Sense though....

HELP MEEE!

EDIT: What exactly does HTC Sense include anyways? I know you get the HTC widgets but currently I'm only using the clock and music player....

Some underlying services/ui but that's mostly it - it was useful when the stock android launcher was pretty bad but now it's features are OK in comparison, good but nothing outstanding. The signal won't change by changing the handset, handsets receive signal pretty much identically despite what you may think.

I went for the deal in the end.

Just got my first bill - which includes a letter stating that my deal includes 'Unlimited Data'.

Everything went better than expected.
