Talkmobile

All the ones I've tried have, a friends locked N96 worked, and my current iPhone is locked to Vodafone and works fine with my cutdown Talkmobile sim (did have to change the APN doodahs for the internet to work).

hmm just tried my talkmobile sim in an old vodafone SE handset, didn't work:(

Just bought this on talkmobile. Really happy with it, especially only being 12 months.

Also got £30 cash back.

Sorry to bump this old thread, but I have a minor gripe with Talkmobile which I discovered today...

Looking through my bill I noticed 14 text message charges for Facebook and Twitter messages. I have 1000 inclusive texts per month which I never get near, so I was curious as to why I was getting charged for these.

I rang up and got told immediately that Talkmobile charge for 'Shortcode' numbers like 32665 and 86444.

I thought this was strange as up until a month and a half ago, I had a pay monthly sim with Vodafone and they definitely do not charge for texts to these numbers.

I'll try and use the respective apps to send and reply to things on Twitter and Facebook now, but using texts was great for areas where I didn't have a 3G (Edit: or Wi-Fi signal).

Three is all you can eat, I get download speeds of around 15 meg compared to my homes 2.

I've gone through something like 200gb every month in the past 7 months.

25 per month with silly amount of minutes and texts on top.

Their customer service has been excellent, changed direct debit quickly, pac code was efficient, problem with signal for a day next to my house, gave me £10 credit and was back up the next day.

T-mobile speeds with 3rd party also suck balls capped, however if you have good orange signal you can switch over to that and get a decent 2mb connection most of the time.

Talk about random crap.

This discussion thread is about Talkmobile, not Three, T-Mobile or Orange.
