Does this exact RAM (the 3200MHz C14) do the 3600Mhz C16 speeds without issue as sold for a slightly higher price?

Yes should be fine as the 3200 and 3600 kits come from same bin, only 3866MHz kit is more selectively binned. They work very well in new Ryzen setups and of course Intel setups.

O this is good news! They will fit perfectly in my rig till i go for 32gb later on (although i must say i am suprised there is no 8 pack 32gb kits yet?)

If I got two lots of the 3200 CL14 to make 32gb, will I still be able to run those timings of 3200 CL14 or 3600 CL16 without problems? i've bought the Arorus Ultra x570 and will be getting the 3900x when you get stock on Fri.

On Z370 I have this running stable at:

3600@15-16-16-36-cr1

How can I improve on this? Do I keep dropping the tRAS as keep seeing differing methods of calculating?

I have a question about this.

I have the 3200MHz variety and now trying to run it at 3600MHz.

The timings mention 16 16 16 36 at 3600MHz. But in reality there are 5 lots of timings to enter. I assume it's all 16 16 16 16 36?

for basic testing enter all 5 plus command rate 2T. Check vram voltage is set as per the default of the kit (its written on the box label) and double check frequency before saving.

Reboot using Memtest x86 USB key and run a single pass test. For general usage if it passes 100% on green 'pass' bar then good to go. For workstation/more serious stability test then run using same test with an 8-10 hour overnight test.

I am just running some tests on my 8 Pack 3200 kit now using an Intel z280 board and wow, makes my Corsair single-sided 4200 C19 kit look like junk.

This ram is epic. Now that Asus have fixed the BIOS on my board even a ram newb like me can get good speeds pretty easy.

I have it at 3600MHz using the CL16 timings.

Do we know officially if it's faster to run this ram (Ryzen 3000) at 3200MHz CL14 or 3600MHz CL16?

Not this RAM specifically but I'm seeing slightly better benchmark results at 3200MHz C14 than 3600MHz C16. More testing to be done though. That's with 32GB (2x16).

Ok so a quick question, for Intel z370 boards is a lower cas or higher MHz better?

Currently running xmp on the 8pac ram with an 8600k on Asus rog z370 f

Hard to give a straight answer, depends on the board. My board prefers lower clock speed and tighter timings (i posted my findings in a separate thread)

On a OC Formula or Asus Apex then you can have your cake and eat it.

On lesser boards (mine included) probably best to start to start with 3200-12-12-12-28-1T and take it in steps to see how far the ram goes. Increase CAS timings +1 if no boot from that starting position. Once you hit a mhz blocker, increase the vdimm volts up to a max of 1.5v.

Then do a 17-17-17-28-2T test and focus on Mhz, take the two results and work out from there a nice balance for your system. The holy grail on air is 4000-12-12-12-28-1T with two sticks and lowest volts. If you can get to 3600-12-12-12-28-2T on air with 1.5v you are doing well.

I would avoid copying some of the testing you see on the web as they (usually) are binning single sticks and/or working with nice cooling setups.

You'd need a lot to line up for 4000-12-12-12 for 24x7

From my experience with this kit, you would not need to buy many kits to find two sticks that will do it. My kit does 3766-12-12-12-1T at 1.65v with two sticks. Would be tempted to do it (buy 4-5 kits) myself if I was rocking an Asrock.

In early days of B-die peeps were going through 20-30 sticks to find sticks of this quality. Take a bow OCUK team.

@8pack / All

Ive been running there for a while now @ stock speeds. 4 x 8gb 3200mhz

My 8086k is a good chip and will do 5.4ghz (delidded). I'm looking to squeeze more out of my ram, could anyone point me in the right direction.

Board is a Z370 Aorus Gaming 7

Am I better increasing speed or tightening timings?

Any example settings would really be appreciated.
