Team Orders WMSC meeting on 8th Sept

Yep could happen. One week to go btw!

Based on what has happened in the past, losing constructors' points is the most likely outcome. However, when Ferrari are involved, anything is possible. ;)

The FIA will definitely help Alonso out and keep him in the title hunt, to give a more exciting finish to the season (which they would be right to do).

Historically, the FIA have always done what they could to make the championship more exciting and as such will want to keep Alonso in the title race.

Why would they only take away the constructor points?
IMO the drivers are not innocent as they knew what they were doing and are also to blame.

If they deduct Alonso's 25 points, he will be out of the championship.

The FIA recognise that F1 is a commercial sport which relies on viewing figures. Removing a major title contender from the competition will not be a good commercial move.

Alonso started it off with the "I am much faster than him"
But he'll be let off and it wouldn't surprise me if Massa gets punished for letting him through.

No, "scandalous" was Renault getting away with Singapore '08. Massa getting screwed and Alonso getting away scot free would be business as usual.

And Renault having McLaren data...
Stepneys and Coughlans claims that the data flow between Ferrari and McLaren wasn't one way - totally uninvestigated. That would have made an entertaining year - Ferrari and McLaren with no championship points. BMW would have been the Constructors Championship winner. :D

When Renault had their hearing, F1 was going through a phase where major constructors were looking to pull out.

Had they issued a severe punishment to Renault, Renault may not have returned to F1.

The FIA could not afford to take the risk of punishing Renault to a point where they decide to leave F1 altogether.

I can;t see drivers being punished and if it is, it will be Massa only. technically Alonso didn't do anything wrong.

I would like to see a fine and constructors set to zero like what happened to McLaren. I think it's comparable.

I reckon it will be a fine and possibley some constructors points deducted

I think the FIA would still like to fine alonso for the comments he made in valencia.
