Don't know how I feel about this, but I guess they were fined £100K so they have received a reasonable punishment.

Considering other incidents involving individuals already mentioned in this thread, it would have been a whole can of worms to make an example of Ferrari.
That said, something does need to change.

They need to clarify what is allowed and what is not.
They have a rule in place which teams consistently break, Doing it in a blatant fashion ala Ferrari or doing it via pit stops and coded messages.

As most have pointed out, It has always gone on and will always do so.
Your racing for a team afterall, Not yourself.
Teams interests > your own, Without the team your a nobody.

I don't even know what they can do.

Get rid of the Drivers Championship. After all, thats the one Ferrari manipulated - although they claim that it was in the teams interests.. Eh? Nothing there was no change to the Constructors championship by switching their drivers around.

If it's a team sport - don't have a driver championship.
If it's a drivers sport - don't have a constructors championship.

Simples...

The only thing that is important is where the rules stand now. We await the clarification. The $100,000 was upheld - they did do wrong, and $100,000 was seen as suitable punishment. What happens next time? An identical situation could arise this weekend, how is a team meant to manage it? $100,000 is a small price to pay for getting you number one driver a few more critical points that could well be the difference between the championship or not. However, deliberately doing something known to be illegal is likely to be met with a stiffer punishment next time...

Clarification of the rules is the most important thing.

100k is pocket change though.

why? non of those incidences are similar in the slightest. Biggest difference is Ferrari was blatantly obvious in what they did.

Was hopping FIA had changed this year, seems they haven't.

2002 - Team Orders not specifically outlawed - Ferrari get $1million fine
2010 - Team Orders totally banned - Ferrari get $100k fine.

Riiiiiight.

It was blatantly obvious what the others did too, even if they were a little less .. blunt .. about it.

Mclaren where investigated and deemed not to be team orders, no over take happened. Things like save fuel are not obvious, they could well be saving fuel as every kilo of fuel costs 0.1 seconds roughly. So are filled light.

RBR never been showen to be team orders and again no overtake happened they crashed.
