Tech related - I have never?

what do you think tiktok is? I'll give you examples:

me - I use it rarely, 2 times a week maybe I'll open it and what I see is car related content, car memes etc, pranks etc. Good way to kill some time when you're waiting for something etc.
my brother - he's into his 3d work, dyi etc all he sees is dyi videos, 3d animations, how-tos etc
my other half - loves crafts and kawaii culture, so she sees a lot of cute plushies, a lot of crafting videos, japan videos etc.

tiktok isn't just 14 yo's dancing to trendy music, tiktok is like youtube, you get videos suggested depending on your likes/hobbies.

In a way when everyone was raving about it in 2020, while I thought they are weirdos I automatically thought a form of Beadle's About. But extremely cringe in sheer desperation.

It was a classic thread alright, does it still exist somewhere? :D

It's been archived so it's in the archived forum.

Side note - Since that game was bought on Steam, was one of the first one I ever bought and the only time I had a gaming PC, I still have it...in fact I can see it on my Mac lol I wonder if it runs on my 2018 MBP.

Overclocked my PC

That's a bit brave to post on a site that has the word "overclockers" in its name. It's a bit like a firefighter who knows everything about fire safety and how to put out fires, and yet he still manages to burn his house down :D

a] you're a teenage girl who likes dancing sexily in front of the camera and

You should know by now that there are no girls on the internet :p

Liked a mario game.

lol oi!

How's that possible? Never? What were you doing then in 2004 with ADSL?

My phone usage after leaving home was a mobile phone.

1998-2002: At uni for internet, I was on a dual-T1 then an OC14 connection.

2002: When I left uni, my internet was cable.

2019: Moved over to VDSL but still no landline phone.

2022: Now I have 5G home internet.

Called my PC a hard drive
Claimed to have power cycled my "hard drive" by powering off & on the monitor
Tried to replace a wired mouse by cutting the cable with scissors

been able to remember the password / email for my original OC forum account

This thread makes me realise how much I do use technology though. Not much for the social media side of things, but home automation and integrated data (i.e. using apps that share data, etc...) have all become an integrated part of life for me. Maybe I'm too reliant on it?
