**Tekken Tag Tournament 2**

If mine comes on Thursday then I'll be delighted, otherwise I can probably contain my excitement until Friday... just. :p

10/10 from Digital Spy

8/10 Eurogamer

So far so good :).

8/10 is a great score of course but I find Eurogamer to be so negative about everything, I swear the articles are written by game-hating manic depressives. :(

Just a few more! Oh and just got an email saying mines dispatched! I won't be back home till Saturday though as I'm in Spain!

I have never ordered from Shopto before so maybe you can help me, I got 2 emails from them...the first one said they had basically charged me for the game and the second one was an order receipt and it told me the address they'd be sending it to. Is the second one basically the dispatch email? When I check on my account for the website it says 'Processing'. Bit off topic sorry lads just thought I'd ask quickly!

Cheers fellas, I got my account charge and order receipt last night then my order shipped email this morning around 9. Got my DLC code too as you mentioned, not long to go now hopefully =) I had also ordered the guide for this from Amazon as it'll be my first Tekken game to take seriously I figured it would make some for some light reading this weekend but they don't seem to have got stock in on time, bit disappointing.

A little surprised with IGN's score. Not read or seen the review yet.. May do so later on!

I've just watched the IGN review, what a joke, the guy must have played the game for about ten minutes. He criticised the character selection system which is about as basic as it gets, as well as the menu system when it couldn't actually be any more simple than it already is:

  • Online Mode
  • Offline Mode
  • Fight Lab
  • Customize
  • Tekken Tunes
  • Gallery
  • Profile
  • Options
Honestly, what's so difficult about those choices there? They are all pretty self explanatory and it'd take a moron to get lost in that. Then there's the absolute rubbish in his opening paragraph:

Tekken Tag Tournament 2, however, attempts to be different. It wants you to learn how to play it. It wants you to spend countless hours mastering its timing, tooling around with its dozen of characters, and making it your own. There’s a slight problem, though: It doesn’t make any of that terribly easy.

It wants you to spend hours mastering its timing? Oh, so pretty much like any fighting game ever then, except this is used as a stick to beat Tekken with, only he seems to have forgotten the ridiculously in depth Fight Lab which makes it a doddle for a new comer to get to grips with any of the characters in the game, you can even go as far as having the training dummy perform up to 5 different moves that you specifically want to practice countering, the practice mode is so comprehensive and customisable, it has all the options a training fighter could ever want, he sounds like he gave the game about 5 minutes, never played a Tekken game in the past either and expected to be amazing at it immediately.

I had a couple of fights last night at our local gathering. All I can say is that it is going to take a lot to learn NOT to press buttons on block.
Teching throws ends in misery in Tekken!

Overall the game looks smooth and there are some hella combo's. Oh and I already hate the team of Law (F) & Law (M).

I got a half day off work just now.... =P Home at 2 to get on the grind.

EDIT - Just got a call from my fiancee, electric has been cut off until 5pm....fail.

Mine's just been dispatched so I guess it'll be here tomorrow, I really need a fightpad at some point, don't really like sticks and the 360 pad is horrible for fighters. :p

I have been playing for an hour or so now, going to take some getting used to as I thought =P I really like it though, going to hit the lab soon and spend most of my night in there working stuff out.

Ahhh I'm jealous, I wanna play it right now. :(

Have we got anybody here who is totally new to Tekken?
